Was he only using the server for EO? I was under the impression that he also designed/hosted flash games for people, and assumed that's what he meant when he said his business was ruined.

Since EO's 2011 re-opening it's been hosted on a budget VPS provider, far away from all his actual profit-generating business.

Then he's just exaggerating in the hopes that they step their game up. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Sneaky Delta: "The account and all services were suspended the entire time we waited for more ID" - Down-playing the fact it was under someone else's control for over a day while vult-r's software and the entire database was leaked.

Also, we do have a couple of BuyVM customers here somewhere... "just players of the game" isn't entirely true.

That sure boils my blood, the fact knowing that they were wrong, but they just don't want to admit it cause it will mean they will have to just give up on their own company. Such security flaws are extreme.

What's even more sickening is that they've deleted the forum posts as if "Hey, this makes sense, but lets not admit to it."
Which I think shows the "neutral" position the forum is in.

I don't blame the moderators for just getting rid of a bunch of newly created accounts bringing up a year old thread when they have no involvement in the case at all.

It's still shitty that Delta never just apologized though. It's also a shame Vult didn't actually sue. It might be that Vult was sharing the account with other people, but they still got fooled by a shitty fake ID.

FWIW: After doing some investigating on the list of IP addresses Delta posted that supposedly accessed the account, only two matched registration details of any EO accounts from the DB dump or EOSERV forums: An NL IP that created a couple of vult-r brand testing accounts, and Andrewbob's. One of them might match some random account called "hax my dds" made in Oct 2011, but that seems like it could just be coincidental, Delta blocked out the last octet of the IP.

If he was sharing his account with these strange IPs that never registered an account on EO, it's just as likely it just Vult logging in from other countries, or that Delta planted them there.

I still have access to the stallion account with buyvm actually and I have a list of the IPs if you want them.

EDIT: Now that I look at it besides my ip and vult there is an odd one out 50.138.23*.** I don't want to post the other digits just incase but maybe you could check that against the DBs?

I'm not sure what amazes me more; the fact that Vult got screwed over by BuyVM or the fact that Vult actually cared enough about EO after all these years to consider taking them to court. Really wish vult did. .

I wouldn't say he would consider taking them to court because of EO. If the company is willing to hand over data that willingly, then that could cause some serious issues for people with data other than just a game server.

With all the proof and the encouragement from the deleted posts on the forums being saved, as well as this thread, and the player base on the EO main clone, surely that has got to strike some sort of match.
I see what Vult-r has posted in those forums, but he obviously stopped replying after a certain amount of time... Is he aware of any of this and has just said "I don't care anymore"
Without anything from Vult-r saying hes just done with the whole thing, i can't help but have hope... Not a ton.. but a bit.

I'm pretty sure he just doesn't care. From what I gathered, he was never particularly fond of EO after it became popular and he was never really interested in managing an MMO.
