Good 

 Anyone know some way to hide or change the icon of a running program (such as a game) that pops up on the task bar?

I've looked and found some stuff that could work but it either does not work or costs money......

I went to the properties, and change the icon but that only changes the look on the desktop or in the search.

Please help?

Circle what you are referring to or elaborate. I don't know if you're talking about the icons next to the start button or the bookmark bar on the google chrome browser. Or possibly something else.

Nevermind, I don't believe their is a free way unless the program doesn't block you from changing it.

Former multi-server mapper.

Change the icon so it looks different on the desktop. Drag the new icon to the task bar. Bam. Just changed it.

Something didnt work, i use a launcher to launch and it launchs the game in its original icon.... But its still good...

Something didnt work, i use a launcher to launch and it launchs the game in its original icon.... But its still good...

yeah it does that for a reason, when the game was compiled the icon was embedded in the exe. You can change the icon on a shortcut, but the exe itself will still have the icon it was compiled with unless you use hex edit or res hack or w/e it is that gets you in the backdoor of an application in order to change it.
