I kinda agree with Sausage. I also used to create a couple servers, not because I want them to be popular (many players) but also because I like creating it. Mapping, adding custom code etc. And learning of course. And your negative karma (-4) should say enough about how retarded this topic is.

Starting a private server is kind of like opening a small business. Failure is a pretty big possibility, but if you really figure out what you're doing and actually commit, you just might have a popular server in the end. It's not as the popular ones have some sort of unfair advantage, they all started off the same as the rest.

In my opinion I honestly think some are making unnecessary shitty servers and some are making ones that can succeed if they get the support they desperately need. I also think that some servers that are or where popular at a moment did not deserve the amount of players they had or have. They basically just slap on brand new graphics and 2x exp and get popular. I think a server should consist of new ideas and some old ideas that you really enjoyed in original eo. It is also a really good idea to give players a unique and non forgetting experiences, because if you do they will tell there friends and so on. It is also nice to give people that still play eo some enjoyment and hopefully like the new style of eo you brought to the table. It would make me fell so happy to see people enjoy a game we all enjoyed again in your own style, but some people are just doing it for the money and yes money does help with the server and you shouldn't fell bad just because you are asking for donations, but you shouldn't enforce it on people. My problem with most people is that they don't make a server to give people a unique and enjoyable experience. They just want the status and the players or maybe just money. If you are ever considering making a server you have to make sure you have the time and if your doing it for a good reason. 

Well this is just my opinion and it might be different from yours, but this is what I believe.

I know a lot of people don't care about what I have to say but I used to make servers all the time and not even put them online. On a rainy day I would sit home and think up ideas for what I thought was a fun server and make it. It helps people learn a lot and eventually they could end up making a server that actually succeeds like Endless Edge or Fallen Evolution.

Endless-Online Problem 0 I downloaded endless online setup and when i changed the config's host to game.endless-online.com and port to 8078, i couldn't click create account or play game. I looked at Endless online > config > setup and tried to change my connection host because it showed my ip. It says i need administer from the owner. Help please (It shows my ip instead of game.endless-online.com in the game)
