How to make a 1st class map

Alright so I'm going to be showing you guys how to make a 1st class map.

I will teach you how to set up the map, how to design a map, and lastly how to make it work.

So basically I will teach you everything in this one tutorial feel free to correct any of the mistakes I made or make suggestions or feel free to ask any question's I will enjoy answering each and every single one of your questions.

Getting started - First of all to map you need a program called EoMapper I suggest you get the newest verison of the maping program, The EoMapper can be found HERE I suggest you pick the newest one this is highly recommended! (You need winrar to download it) Once its downloaded before you extract it make a folder (I suggest calling it "EoMapper") then you will extract it.

Setting up EoMapper - Alright after you downloaded and extracted it your going to need "GFX" for it to run. You can find the "GFX" in your server client folder or you can simply download the original Endless-Online folder (From the main server) once you found the "GFX" open up the folder and copy everything within that folder and paste it in the "GFX" folder in "EoMapper" then start up "EoMapper"

What to know - Alright once you open up the "EoMapper" program you will get two things that will open up the first one is called "Palette" the "Palette" has several tabs these tabs are : Ground, Objects, Overlay, Downwall, Rightwall, Roof, Top, Shadow, Overlay 2, Special. in those exact order.

Lets not worry about those right now.

Let's ignore "Palette" for now this is just what you need to know before you start mapping.

The second thing that should pop up is the mapper its self the mapp is black and empty so don't worry about that.

Starting up - Alright let's start mapping now alright for starters you need to use the mapper (the big black empty thing).

Okay so click "File" then "New" once you do that you should see something like this,

Name

Width 0

Height 0

Alright this starts you off by letting you choose the size you want for your map.

In a game when you put your mouse over the ground you will see a big black square thats how big each width/height will be so if we make our width 15 and height 15 you will have 15 squares vertically and horizitionally. Alright for this tutorial lets make the map 15 by 15 as for the name just make it whatever you want.

Ground - Alright now you should be worried about "Palette" open up "Palette" and select the "Ground" tab once you do that you will see a large selection of tiles (for this tutorial we will be making a nature theme) (I suggest scrolling down till you see a good selection of grass not some of those lame ones on the first line up their). Alright so select the grass you want and then take out the mapper then click over the black spot and the grass you've selected will appear now make the whole map covered in grass so once your done it will look like this.

Object - Alright open up "Palette" and select "Object" Alright scroll down and pick what you would like in your map lets pick some trees, Alright so once your done it should look a bit like this or something similiar.

Overlay - Alright when you open up Overlay you will see a bunch of things pick whatever you would like so basically what overlay is it puts whatever you pick it will instantly pick whatever you choose above the object you want or grass or house but for this one I won't need any overlays. (Feel free to use it if you want).

Downwall - Alright for downwall its basically a giant selection of houses I suggest you use some of those halowdale houses for this map.

How downwall works its like a giant connection so basically all you have to do is add a bit of the house and then another bit next to it sometimes stuff like this are in objects same in right wall, Alright so once you connected the three parts of the front your map should look a bit like this.

Rightwall - Alright the Rightwall is basically the same thing as downwall but instead it travels down to the right thus Rightwall like Downwall. So once you set up the downwall it will look a bit like this.

Alright lets not worry about the rest for now lets edit the map a bit more by adding in a path maybe a small little lake and some objects.

Alright all I did was look threw what was provided in "Ground" and "Objects" and look how the map looks now.

The problem with most people out their is the fact that they don't look threw what their provided in their gfxs.

Alright this map doesn't need a roof or top. You guys feel free to add in a shadows if you want it in your map but most maps are good enough without shadows.

Overlay 2 - Alright once again I don't need any overlay's in this map.

Special - Alright special provides you with basically special effects so wall won't allow anyone to walk threw the object alright I will list of what each special does below.

Wall - Won't allow anyone to move their the object it's cast upon.

(All) Chairs - When you sit upon an object for example a chair you can sit on it (Depends on the direction the arrow is facing).

(All) ? - All the ? are either set up for fishing or mining or hervesting or whatever but it must be set up within the server.

Bank - Whatever object you touch will open up a bank.

Npc wall - This is basically a boundery that npcs can't pass.

Edge - Okay so if you set up a map to big and you don't need all that space just cast the edge and it will close off the map and also act as a wall.

Fake - IDK

(All) boards - Basically just shows a board to make messages.

Jukebox - Plays music if you select it.

Jump - You can jump upon certain objects where ever jump is cast on.

Water - Place this on water if you want people to enter that area and the water will shimmer as if your actually on it.

Arena - Used for arena.

Sound - IDK

(All) Spikes - basically if you step on it or it pops up by it's self from the ground.

Warp - Set a location so you can leave or enter a map.

Item Spawn - Set this upon a chest and it will spawn an item within the time you choose and the item you choose.

Npc spawn - Spawns a npc of your wish.

Sign - Set up a sign.

Alright so once you choose one of those above you want in your map it will automatically play when your in the map in your server.

Alright so if your making a cage map and you don't want people to be able to scroll or warp out by them selves then all you need to do is go to the "Map" tab in eomapper and then select properties and edit that in anyway you need it to be editted.
