Anyone else or just me?

 So just a couple days ago I decided to start talking to a girl again, we'd had issues in the past which I had no other choice than to bury and get along with her. So the mixed feelings start kicking in, and not an hour later one of our players asks me if I'm getting back with her. WTF? I didn't even have this chat ingame, the whole episode has nothing to do with the game other than the fact we work together.

So anyways, pretty much everyone ingame knows if & when I'm gonna be online, who I talk to, what I do, heck they probably know my daily schedule.

This is really sad and it's just pushing me away... any thoughts on this? Has anybody else had this problem before?

Mhm I had that once. Players even admins that tell you how to live or what goes on in your life. Players that know things of you which you didn't even know o.o and when you tell them that that isn't true they believe themself. (Yes I heard it from blabla and he said that you were loving someone.) Then when you say Err no.. they go; Yes its true! Why don't you believe me! (Err..) Or when you tell a server secret to a player and tells him to not tell anybody else. In like a hour the whole server knows. But none of them tells me. Then one does and you're like; Where did you heard this? Yes from thisperson then you ask thisperson that says yes from thatperson o.o etc etc. Its like they know everything about you.

Typically though it centers around trust/mistrust, emotions, friends/enemies, grudges held, opinionated views, anything that could be seen as controversial.

To me, in cases like these, it seems it turns into a two-sided war, between the people that actually believe you and the people that believe themselves, as Ananas put it. Drama sucks xP

That may be fun and all, but it also increases the problem. And many players don't understand the concept of sarcasm and jokes. But on the other hand, some players that do, use it for the powers of evil. Lol.

"Don't feed the troll" could be altered to, "Don't feed the fire."

If you get what I mean.

Well, that does work occasionally. But, from what I've experienced, when you add on, more and more people join until it gets out of hand. As I said before, it turns into a little war over nothing, where people start grasping as the most stupid ideas to use as insults.

(Also, I've noticed people getting more and more creative with insults, I find it quite amusing to actually contemplate what some people say when they shout out insults.)

But yeah, "fighting fire with fire" does work sometimes, I'll give you that.

But so does smoothing out things xP
