 What do you like in an RPG?
I am making a new RPG like diablo or Oblivion(But not 3D). I know what i like in them but i want to know what other people like to so i dont just base it on my views. I know its not possible to please everyone, but pleasing most is almost as good :D
I like good graphics and a good story mainly.

First post cause I'm eating and posting. :)
But I like good fighting systems with easy and fast to use magic. I like crafting items. I'm not all for the long walks to places though. That kills in every rpg though. I'll think of more stuff to but I cant think of any other things atm.

Yeah I like crafting things, I also like interesting maps.
I'm also a fan of the way items look etc.

For you two, check out returnofwarrior.com for the RPG RoW. It has the best Fighting system out there from what i have seen in an rpg. And well, it doesnt allow you to "Make" weapons, you can upgrade it to a HUGE amount of custom to make it unbelievably godly. But its very very very time
consuming and expensive. Thats the rpg i play the most.
As a matter of fact its the only one out there that has kept my intrest for more than 1 week (other than EO). And now im totally addicted to it. And between the 2 races in the game, Human and Ak'Kan, people become very very racist in the game against each other hhahah! Humans hate akkan players,
akkans hate human players. Its rather hilarious.
Unfortunately the graphics are very outdated and are from '06. And there isnt a whole ton of story behind it, other than humans met akkans, and akkans dont like humans much. Then war broke out, and you are behind the story of one of the soldiers of the war.
I highly recommend people to try this out if your up for something new. As it does have a reletively small community, but it deserves much more cause the stupid GMs dont wanna do advertising. Give it a try ;)

Thank you. This game will keep me busy for a while,I have played 99% of the mmorpgs out there but none of them kept me busy for more than 3 weeks.[besides EO which by the way, i've been playing for 4 years now].
I just downloaded RoW and it seems nice,there's a unique mouse/keyboard switch that I haven't seen on any other MMORPG. The classes are pretty common and the graphics are not that good. But than again,we are all playing a 2d game. XD
Ovarall the game seems kinda awesome,i am going to play it for a while.

And well most akkans tend to be little bitches in PvP. I mean jeez, im trying to train in the Almighty Land, and then WHAM some hoe bag Akkan swoops in and kills me for absalutely nothing!

Next offtopic post gets deleted and/or -1'ed. Achievements are pretty fun to try and gain. Questing is also fun as long as they are well written quests and not just " Kill 50 of these mobs" or " Collect 50 of these items". Grinding shouldn't be a part of questing. ---

^Completely agreed.
Although to go along with questing, a marathon of running back and forth between NPC's is rather annoying as well. It's hard to find the few that have the perfect balance.
