I prefer XP due to the familiarity I have with it. Windows 7 was an unexpected change, but it's a hell of a lot better than Vista, from what I've seen.

Exactly its what people know i see no reason to change

I prefer the interface of Windows 7 and Vista compared to XP.

Windows 7 is quite pretty and I like the interface a lot better than XP.  It is a lot more organized and (in my opinion) easier to set up networking and network sharing for idiots.

I installed ubuntu linux just for kicks to try ChomeOS (which eventually failed...) but it had a lot of features that I liked that windows didn't have. However I rely on windows too much to actually use ubuntu in everyday settings. I'll probably use it more once I have enough money to purchase an actual server.

I'm not sure I could get this on Windows given it needs to be rebooted once a week for security updates among other things:

[root@claire ~]# uptime
23:35:25 up 166 days, 17:14,  1 user,  load average: 0.02, 0.02, 0.00

root@hub:~# uptime
 13:39:31 up 170 days, 31 min,  2 users,  load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

Snow Leopard because it is the most aesthetically pleasing. Also macs are just the best you can get in my opinion :D. If you are into speed, gaming, and customization then windows is for you but if you just an average internet user an just check emails here and there mac is for you.

No Ubuntu is okay fast etc. But WinXP Overruns every OS out there, Because every program is made to work on XP. None complains about it either.

Most people only install Ubuntu because they think they get some kind of "nerd points" for using Linux. 95% of the people using Ubuntu couldn't actually install or setup Linux without all the idiot proofing Ubuntu has do to just to get them to a GUI. How many people here that think Ubuntu is "ftw" can actually shell script or have had to compile a kernel themselves? ...and what do most of these people do once they are using Ubuntu? They try and make Wine work for all their Windows apps.

Linux is a brilliant and secure embedded, server or mission critical operating system but currently only an entry level (at best) desktop operating system.

Don't get me wrong, I love what Ubuntu is doing. It is by far the best Linux distribution available. I use it myself for some tasks but don't delude yourself into thinking you sound like some kind of computer genius just because you tell your friends you use it... and if you think you have a reason for using it and that list includes "It's faster" or "It crashes less" or even "It looks better" then you are seriously misguided.

Just a little bit more "Sordie Wisdom" for the world.

If anyone cares my favourite operating system is CP/M! I still use it to control some of my robots. =D

Even if I fell into the category you just described it still wouldn't make me a failure, I'm using software provided by them. Just as everyone who uses windows has done. If we want to get technical setting up Ubuntu to work with everything is much harder then getting stuff to run on windows[obviously] and most wine apps don't run without having to tweak them to work with your specific build. As far as us ubuntu users trying to get nerd points, I viewed your post as more of a "nerd point grabber"

I use Ubuntu because it is free, and has great eye candy.

Wine is a very simple and easy program to use, Use Youtube.com and search up a tutorial... Lol If you are using Ubuntu, But if you're in that position you need to use wine for  a WIN application. Then best you think again about what OS is best for you.
