EoConfig release

i got bored so i came up with this EoConfig

it's geared towards replacing the original Econfig.exe

it's smaller in size, has more features, and a custom host list..
(explained more in the READ ME.txt included)

it's not quite as "pretty" as the old config
but i like small files, and the features out weigh the looks

Download EoConfig link 1:

Download EoConfig link 2:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=362BYY61 (annoying wait time)

i've made it pretty clear, but yeah extract it into your endless folder

(i made this as practice, i wasn't going to release, but i figured it might be useful to some)

[edit]
please don't think i'm advertising for bonez or fallen evolution,
i placed them on the hostlist.txt for example purposes only..
being that they typically have the most traffic,
i thought they would be good examples
(otherwise i would have put my server)

Lots of people are getting the TABCTL32.OCX error
First, try right clicking EoConfig.exe and Run as Administrator
Only download if this does not fix the error

Note: i didn't see this download link being a problem
as most computers should come with it already
sorry if this is violating any rules of the forum

Place this file either in your windows\system32 folder
or inside the endless folder
(i believe either would work, i'd test, but i don't get this error on any PCs of mine)

Look good. Have you considered using the SLN? If you need inspiration, you should check out Sordie's EOLauncher. :P

@danjakeneal

the program just pulls the text from the hostlist.txt file inside the config folder

and displays it on the Server Host/IP list. just add whatever hosts you want to hostlist.txt

@Plasmastar

yeah i was thinking about doing that.. but i didn't know how to go about it

i've seen eolaunch, and sordie's eoaddons breaks it, which is the main reason

i thought of this being a good thing to practice on.

maybe i'll look more into how SLN works

any tips?

just read this...

place the TABCTL32.OCX into the system32 folder if it's not already there...

then goto Start\Run and type

regsvr32 \windows\system32\TABCTL32.OCX

can someone please confirm if this fixes the error

I did kind of like the original econfig's style, they had nice warm colors and such that made me like the feel. The icon isn't to the econfig.exe icon, so you know it's in VB. I do like what you are trying to do but maybe make the visual better and you have a good program.

yeah i know.. like i mentioned.. it's not as pretty =[

i'm lazy as hell, and my graphic skills are about that of a preschoolers

i also tend to shoot for small files.. (my computers are dinosaurs)

anyone who wants graphics for this.. go ahead and make them..

and i'll put them on it.. and give you credit for it xP

problem solved for windows vista
open the folder system32
find cmd and rightclick it, select run as admin
type
regsvr32 TABCTL32.OCX
press enter

jump for joy

also just realized that EoConfig is not reading and displaying the host section of config.ini properly

it does save the value properly on the INI
it will just always display 127.0.0.1 on the program, very annoyingly

i'll fix this tomorrow and repost

Update for EoConfig and CC:
