Just as Wikipedia, I doubt people are going to write something and it not be true, if that's the case, nothing anywhere is true cause it's all written by PEOPLE.

So is the bible. What's your point? What scott is saying is that people DO edit wikipedia for luls, and they don't have college degrees. The argument you are posing to the situation doesn't even make sense.

You need to think about it like this. Probably 100-200 people view a page in a day(maybe more), and they are allowed to edit it. If 1 person is wrong, you don't think there is another 150 people who are willing to correct it that day? Wikipedia has stopped a lot of spamming so it's more facts than "lulz".

I've opened a wikipedia about something (I forget) and it was nothing but a whole bunch of l33t speak. I do understand and agree with what you're saying. I myself use wikipedia, but I usually use wikipedia for quick information. A quick skim of the page, and I'm done. I usually use othersites that are "school approved" or books to write papers, which have to be very accurate in the school I am in.

Haha, micro theres many reliable sites, (more than wiki). A great site would be Facts On File, Britanicca, Gales Group and many more. They are written by professionals, not by the average person who hears a gossip and post's it as a fact...
