Cat.

I don't need to take her outside. The dog needs to be taken out. Dogs bark loudly, cats meow softly. Oh and my cat sleeps with me. She's a baby. ;D

Dogs are not very smart animals. They are harder to house train, and they don't know their own size when barking a fight up with a bigger dog. Cats on the other hand learn using a litter box much quicker. When it comes to confrontation for a cat, they won't pick a fight with something they can't kill.

Apollo votes: Cat :P

Sadly, Apollo, You are wrong, Dogs are easy to train unless your lazy, Dogs are also very smart, you can teach them to do anything.

House training Apollo, Yeah it takes about 2 weeks to fully teach a dog to goto the door when its needs to go, if you have a back yard/front, just have a under grond fence.

Oh trust me dogs know there own size, I have a Half husky and half something else, Not to sure, My nabour has a pure bread husky, and my dog runs over starts barking, nabours dark just stands up barks back and my dog just starts a pinning back to me, they know what there doing, If you're aroundadog long enough like me, I've spent my life with dogs, studying them, there great.

But yes house training can and yes is the hardest, But there are like 10 differnt ways you could teach it to learn to do it's things outside.

Cats will try and fight lots of animals, such as bears, those are the big

issues,

Yes a bear, a cat can scare a bear off, I'm not sure how this is done, but it's been done.

Scott, Dogs arn't that hard to take care of, In your case taking them outside if it's a bigger dog, tie it outside for the day, *Make sure it's got food water, house* the obovous, then your all set to go until its dark out.. Thats What I do, it's easy.

Before you go on about it barking, yes it will bark for about one week, then should learn to stop if it don't learn it'll stop after abou 5mins.

This is usually caused if it sees you and you walk past it, even paying attention to it, then go your way, it just wants to go with you. Thats okay.

and Festa, How can you like cats over dogs just for that reason?

Cats are like that cause there never given the attention as dogs are, everyone knows that, cats have eachother to play with, unlike the dog.

EDIT: Fixed some errors, added more.

Leaving a dog outside all day makes them smell like a dog. Who wants a stinky dog in the house? Not me.

Barking is annoying. They don't stop barking after 1 week. They bark at every noise they hear.

My dog is outside for maybe an hour a day and he starts smelling bad after about 3 days. I can't imagine leaving him outside for a week without a bath.  They do.. Every dog I've had or seen has...

The smell.

That would be depending on where it sleeps outside, and what kind of environment it does its things in. It can't pee and crap where it sleeps... I really have no problem with dog smell. If it does it doesn't really stink my house up,

I teach it not to go onto my couch and things, My dog is always allowed on my bed tho. I'm werid like that, My dog has full access to my bed, in any siduation, I have 100% respect for all my dogs, because I like em that much.

What goes around comes around I guess.

My cats are the most obnoxious, stupidest animals on the face of the earth. I hate them. One of them bites me whenever I touch it, the other runs away as fast as it can if I get anywhere near it.

However, my dog is also very dumb. He has separation anxiety, so anytime someone leaves/comes home, he barks for like 10 minutes. Its also obnoxious.

So....having experienced hate on both sides, I have to vote for dog. He's more fun to play with. Lots of energy, gets me moving for once, unlike those damn cats that just shit everywhere (aka our new carpet) because my sister is too lazy to clean the litter box.

Don't blame the cat on not having a place to poo. The dog would poo in the floor too if you didn't take it outside wouldn't it?

Micro: That's just gross....

Ethan: Cats are not ignorant, they just don't trust you. :]

All in all, I vote Cats. They are just cute, fierce, better trained in my experience, and better friends// lolcatz. ^_^ Dogs are awesome pets, yes, but the cat wins this fight. :>
