I believe Scott is right, its a free country and people mostly do what they want.

Its not really a free country if you don't live in canada, even there you can't get a way with; like somking weed, or shit like that.

You got your -1 rating through posting in the wrong forum, perfectly reasonable. I don't see why you have a grudge with this, unless this is like your 100kazillionth account because you kept recreating them because you actually care about your rating...Kay now im just babling....Personally, I disagree. If players could -1 admins, then we would have stupid idiots abusing it spending eleventy two hours a day -1ing them.

See if EOServ admins were your government, and there was poverty amongst the public users being too poorly to buy a new computer and play something else, then they might give a shit. Actually no they wouldn't.

lol I'm not sure you can or should be trying to compare the internet to real world society politics.

Democracy and equality don't work on forums like this. Meritocracy does! This isn't the fault of the admins, it's the people who use this forum. After all, a society with no crime requires no police.

The single biggest reason this doesn't work starts with these simple observations:

Immaturity+Anonymity=Idiocy
Idiocy+Voice=Argument
Argument+Forum=Flame war
Flame war=Immaturity

See how this can easily become a self perpetuating factory of Immaturity? (see forum.endless-online.com for an example of this)

Do you think a community that can so easily collapse into this should allow everyone, including those responsible, to rate everyone else?

To avoid this and allow any online community to grow there needs to be a class system where those in power (known as the netocracy) aren't voted in, but earn there status through a display of maturity and knowledge. This is known as Meritocracy.

If you aren't happy with a rating those that have earned the ability to rate you have given then there is only one thing you can do about it. Earn an equal or greater status within the community. You can't earn this by QQ'ing about what the current moderators do or trying to become popular. TheONLY way is to earn a good reputation with those that have already earned the right to rate. All you have to do to not get a minus rating is follow the rules. It's not that hard.

Anti-Maoist? Yes.
Elitist? Very much, Yes.
Dictatorship? Err.. Maybe XD
Unfair? That's for you do decide.

But who's to blame here?
The moderators who have earned the right to rate people by not acting like immature idiots?
..or maybe the people who have earned the bad ratings by acting like immature idiots?

If you guys could see some of the posts/spam/attacks we delete to keep this community from turning into forum.endless-online.com
