Imagine a server, where there are no client restrictions. You can select a building, similar to selecting an NPC, and a dialog appears that of a quest, vendor, or citizenship NPC. There are diverse options depending on the type of building:

(1) City Building: players with a good amount of money, would have the option to build on empty-ish maps, where they would have to setup 4 "city towers" and if the towers are standing for a full 12-24 hours, then the map gets 100% claimed/owned by a guild, and the towers would have to be setup by a guild owner/admin. Once the map is owned, the guild owner/admin is able to build a castle on the map. The castle will generate EXP for the guild every "X" time.

(2) Train Soldier: training an NPC starting off at level 1, the NPC will be showed in your "Active Military", which is the amount of trained soldiers, and to take up less space, they can be "withdrawn" from a building at anytime. When they are on a map, you can select them and make them follow you, including to other maps, and also attack enemies; similar to the pet system. These NPC's will die, and not be able to be revived. The NPC's will cost a good amount of gold to train, and to build the "barracks training centre building" will definitely cost a lot of money, and will probably require you own a guild to build, and will also require you to own a certain map or  town where there is space for you to build your own city, all costing lots of gold so only "high up" players will be able to build their own cities.

The higher your guild level, the more features of city building is available. Towers can be destroyed by enemy guilds so then they can build their own towers on your map if they wish to colonize your city, AKA have control of all of your buildings and thus expand their own guilds level and power. To prevent this from happening, your city could have active soldiers to protect your map from being conquered so NPC's would come and attack anyone that's trying to destroy your city, and they would spawn from your "active military" whenever they are killed. The enemy would also have to protect those towers for 12-24 hours before colonizing you, so it would be pretty hard.

There would also be other buildings like a mine to mine gold or minerals for crafting items, houses so that you can hold a higher population of soldiers, and maybe a barracks like catapults so that you can take down other guilds buildings faster than attacking?

The only problem is that I think it would be too hard to do this, to add real time strategy and manipulation of maps through player interaction. Like by just clicking a few buttons, a player would be able to add house GFX to a map, and then be able to click on that house like clicking a NPC to spawn NPC's for a certain amount of gold and such. What do you think?

Though this could be done (most of it) with server sided bots to do map mutations (like in sausages halloween event that was going on) it wouldn't be any good. People don't come to eo to build. They come to get shit to sell on paypal, outrank people in wealth/levels, or to spend most of their time afk doing nothing (sitting there talking here and there to people).


Suggestions like this MIGHT be good for other games, but for eo it's something that would be wasted time.
