| ![]() Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 community will allow you do write games and apps for the PC, Android and iOS. It can also be used with their XNA C# Framework to easily make games for both the PC and xbox 360. They are both free and there is a large community with lots of free examples and resources (graphics, models, sounds, etc...). Have a fist full of links:

I haven't worked in Unity, but I think it does a lot of the work for you and is more content based so if you're less interested in the development aspects that might be the way to go for you. They also have video tutorials on their site so learning it shouldn't be too hard: https://unity3d.com/ --- class EOSERV { Programmer | Oldbie Open source EO Client: https://github.com/ethanmoffat/EndlessClient };

| ![]() XNA development isn't supported anymore but still a good possibility. But for the future I would reccommend MonoGame or Unity since its being actively developed --- Andrewbob - I would be on the fucking copter of rofls Programmer, Web Developer, and Graphics Designer

| ![]() I use Unity for development because it covers all platforms. However to put your game on xbox you have to get a license and depending on the game you may get it for free. Playstation is the same as well. As far as modeling goes there is a whole range of software that is useful. And rigging isn't that hard either especially when rigging humanoid models you are able to use Mixamo that automatically does the work for you. It is all about how you wan't to do it.

| ![]() If you have to ask this type of question your probably not ready to build a game.

| ![]() He's asking the question because he doesn't know. And every question is a good question. As far as unity goes some people use visual studio for it. And others use mono developer for it. However unlike most, usually i find my self coding in mono and usually i will have visual studio open for notes with past code examples i have done. |
