yes you're right JBS is in charge of aureus now, however they haven't heard anything from hiuru (their lead graphics designer) for aureus-online, in almost a full year.
edit: actually i just contacted JBS again here's what was said:
Hiuru isn't working on this project now or anytime soon from what I am aware of since we last spoke mate. It hasn't been forgotten about, just
can't be worked on yet.

Which means it wont happen in the next 2-3 years best case scenario.
They are more interested in making 1-off flash/app games than making something that might keep people around for a long time. ---

Last time I saw Hiuru was several years ago, as I don't come on very often. It was on the Eclipse Origin Engine forums rather than here, If I recall some of them were looking into migrating EO to Eclipse. Perhaps he has migrated over there? - http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/user-42911.html
On second look, no activity since 2012!

We are beyond just mobile games now. Feel free to look at our twitter to see that, but AO is a project lead by Hiuru and we can't simply work on it without him. He is currently busy and thus we are focusing on another bigger project. Patience really is the only answer to this. There are quite a
few other interesting EO related things happening within this community that you guys can play though. We would recommend doing that until Hiuru and possibly Stava are back 100% and if you still have interest in AO by then, it'll be worked on.

yea your keeper game was pretty cool, you guys are progressing and i'm glad to see it, just wish the project i've been anticipating for years was being worked on but i understand why it can't, i'll always be rooting for the future of AO development.

I only looked at their stuff like 1 year ago, and that's mainly what I saw when I looked. But my assumption of 2-3 years is probably going to be realistic before we even get to test anything. ---
