As some of you may know, I've been very slowly working on bringing Seose back to life by starting again using code from my vast array of dropped server projects =P (Mainly MEOW, Kalandra and Seose). 

However, I don't really have much time I can dedicate to this so progress has been going slow. I'm at a point where I need to decide what I want from this project; continue making a fully blown EOServ alternative - at this rate could take years or go back to the MEOW idea where I have a mini EO server so I can forget all the long term MMO stuff and just use it to experiment with all the fun ideas we'd like to see in EO in the future. Kinda like a test platform.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Used to love how you could run Seose and everything was setup already, but since eoserv does that now to and is very near complete I can't really see a reason to make another one :o be cool to have an official EOSERV/Seose client tho 

There was one feature I kind of liked in kalandra where you could directly connect to the game from login without going to a character select. But yeah, I don't think it would be worth the time unless it's got something pretty unique to it. Would hate to have you put time and effort into something and not many people use it. :s

Seose,Treose,Peose,Meow,Leow or Teow it won't matter , as long as it contains the good old american back door it will do.

I personally think you should drop the servers since as callum said, EOSERV is near perfect now and should instead focus on finishing EO addons like being able to have more Bows/Wings and also removing item restrictions from the EO client, that would benefit the community more then "just another eo server" oh thats a good name for your new server!

JAEOS project, Have fun sordie, i mean im sure the community will love it and its just what they wanted right? as if the last two wern't already huge disapointmen.. i mean fantastic

The way i see it you don't want to make anything that gives people power over another in the slightest way that's out of the question so instead you got to make something completely useless and try get respect and props for that, I thanks you for EO addons pm system, was the most useful thing you ever made since EO addons itself. and after that will continue to see this garbage like your actually interacting with your only fans or some shit. My suggestion is you should take SEOSE, Meow and Kalandra and Shift + Delete cause that pretty much how useful they are to us all and who ever tells you they are useful is blinded as fuck and needs a slap in the face. You keep on doing the same old shit why don't you just take yourself away and disapear like you did last time instead of asking for peoples opinion/suggestions that you aren't ready to take in. Give me your response i'll be glad to hear why you think its a great idea to make another EO server emulator other than to benefit your own bullshit, Sausage already done it so just give it a rest and go back to your sordie twitter page.

When I first started running a server, someone recommended I use SEOSE over EOSERV - it was awesome having something super easy to set up. Having spells was a huge plus too over the (then) current EOSERV.

The only down-side was that it was closed-source. Even if I can't read Pascal/Delphi's hopeless syntax, it would at least be nice to see how things are done.

MEOW filled in that gap nicely, it was really cool to see just how easy it could be to write a basic server emulator. I think a MEOW style emulator would be of more interest to me, EOSERV source can be hard to navigate at times since it does so much. Plus it would probably be easier to add in missing server-side features so I can make my client more feature complete. Or even add expanded stuff like passive skills, a better file patching system, etc.

I was recently playing around with F# because a coworker recommended it to me. I thought it would be cool to do something MEOW-style, but written in a functional language, as a way to learn functional programming beyond the basic examples. I may still do that in the future, but who knows... :P Anyway, you could always use learning a new language as an excuse to write something MEOW-style, if that's what you're into.

I don't think removing hard limits or modifying hardcoded values would be an easy project for a memory modification program like EO.Addons.

I vote for the test platform idea. Personally I'll get much more out of it, and it will be some fun. Glad to see you're still around!

the config kept breaking and for some reason I thought the executable broke sometimes too thats why I had a folder called dont use read only haha. But unless the executable actually writes to itself now I'm old enough to know that isnt really possible.
