Just posting an update so you guys don't think I'm gone lol. I've done a little bit of graphics stuff for the client, I'm just getting adjusted to PyGame so that it is efficient.

How is PyGame? I've been thinking of getting into it but i'm not sure yet.

It's kinda weird but o haven't had any big issues with it, it fits my needs

VB yes, C# not so much haha. But considering my course is requiring python use, i'm trying to do it in that.

Might have to try that out. Haven't tried coding in almost 8-10 years, but have been planning on something for the last year or so. Will definitely look into python though and see how easy it is and what it all allows for. Used to have basic knowledge in C# but nothing more than an intro course in high school.

Yeah fair xD. I like C# a lot as a language, it's my main one these days =P I just remember your days of lovin VB. My brother is starting to study Python in school so I see some of what Python entails, looks pretty interesting. I'm interested to see where this project takes you and good luck with your studies pal! :)

I am delaying this project for a while as I have been working on a program for my job and i will receive internship credit for it. But i will release something I was working on that could potentially be the client instead of a straight python client. It shouldn't take much time to finish the other program and once that is done, I will be right back to working on this.

Currently supports:

Rendering of tile maps created with Tiled Map Editor

Rendering of base actors (player skins) (keyboard control supported, does need touched up)

  • All male skins
  • All female skins once I add the female spritesheet

This looks really interesting, good job.
Just curious, are you planning on staying committed to this project? Either way, I look forward to seeing more progress!

Yes, i will slowly be adding more and more. Currently I won't add any networking to the client until I get most of the graphics side handled.
