Sometimes server takes a long time in loading the game. what can be the cause? when it loads, then says lost connection and sometimes take 5min to login.

one of your map, or pub files might be corrupted. or the map you are trying to logon to. you can try deleting the map you're logging on to if you know the ID and delete your pub files too.

(client sided of course)

map isnt corrupt because it happens only few days/week. And i dont think pub is corrupt. it would take long time to login everyday if it would be

packet loss between you and the server? (bad internet connection?)

I know I had this problem before but I dont remember how I fixed.

Not bad connection but it's major packet loss.

If anyone knows how to fix, then help me out.

packet loss does mean you have a bad connection. it could mean numerous things. 1 is the physical connection between you and the server is torn somewhere (damaged cable) and packets are not making it.

start command prompt.

type in:

ping www.cbc.ca -t

press Enter

this will ping cbc.ca infinitely. leave it running for atleast five minutes. (you can minimize command prompt and continue working on the computer) Then after five minutes have past, press control + C together. This will stop the command prompt program and show you the results.

if you have a % loss greater than 0. This means your connection is broken somewhere. Call your internet service provider and explain. They will fix the problem for you.
