I dont play minecraft very often and i am trying to use a mod i found online [ i have never used a mod before...] and i dont know what im doing wrong since i havnt done it before. The mod i am trying to add to minecraft is the ender dragon mod.

I did this:

Downloaded Mod Loader> Put it in the minecraft bin and delete meta-inf> Downloaded the Ender dragon mod> Extracted the files to the mods folder> Force updated minecraft> Started minecraft> NOTHING???

help? x[ ... I've watched like 4-6 tutorial videos for this and read the thread for the ender dragon mod on the minecraft forums...

if i remember correctly forcing an update overwrites all the files. (basically as if you redownloaded it all) obviously replacing your edited copy.

what i would do is delete the whole folder, redowload it, go in mincraft.jar, delete the meta-inf, add the mod loader and ender dragon mod. play minecraft

unless their some dumb thing you got to do like create a mod folder and add this to that and that to this then yeah . . can't help you there

go to skydaz.com and find the mod you want and there is an auto installer so you wont have to worry about that. Good luck!

Some mods require you to insert files into the minecraft.jar also. If you don't insert the files into the .jar (usually bin folder is the label name) then you just take the files that are inside then stick them in the minecraft.jar not all mods have them though. And then you have it in the folder. Also might I recommend the my little pony mod? I freaking love that mod.

Your best bet is to use Minecraft Forge, and you can easily YouTube some videos on how to install Forge and adding the mods are simple as dragging them into the right folder.

He's got a good idea majority of the mods support forge. Mod loader is starting to become a bit out dated in a lot of mods. =3

Ok your problem.

1.Go and download @ http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/939149-launcher-magic-launcher-114-mods-options-profiles-news/

2.Once downloaded and you open MagicLauncher up Click Setup and click your minecraft jar.

3.Now if you press Add you can pick any of your mods and it will auto setup.
