(note: Gears is an Xbox exclusive)

In GoWJ, they've taken out my favorite mode (horde mode) and replaced it with a class-based mode called Survival.
Not only that, but Survival's online play sucks. Having to join mid-game on a random difficulty instead of having the option to start a new game on a normal difficulty.

My other favorites (Warzone, Execution, Wingman) are also gone. Replaced with OverRun, Domination, and Free-for-All.

I like the story mode and the new features they've added in to it, but the online play needs some changes in either new game modes, or better management of game settings (Survival mode in particular).

If any of you have either played or seen the new Gears game, what are you opinions on it? Would you be willing to buy it?

I've played all gears games, gears of war 2 being my personal favorite with gears of war 3 runner up, GoWJ does not do justice to the gears franchise. Imo, i think epic just felt the need to exploit what they had, they did say at E3 that gears of war 3 was going to be their last game. GoWJ online sucks so much too! I think only the campaign saves its dignity lol
