It's not a Mayan Myth. It's a myth in our society. Nobody knows the real reasoning behind their calendar, if it even is one.
On the other hand, if you're a christian and like to study or read scriptures; it seems to me like certain signs have happened, or are close to happening that would indicate that the end is near.

My town here in New York, is more worried about the actions of people rather then natural disasters. About 50% of my school, including staff, have already "called in sick". And the discussion today revolved around the possibilities of deranged individuals entering the school with weapons.
So I blame the ignorance and panic of some individuals which will lead to tragic events occurring.
Isn't it weird that there were 4 incidents in America involving mass murder this week, and other countries? Or is it just me.
