I don't think dying has to be a bad thing

The religious "fanatics" basically think that when you die you go to heaven which is a far better place than the world we live in..

Pain doesn't have to be bad either, in the psychic way it's connected to caring and love, physical pain keeps us from getting ourselves killed and harming our body..

I'm not completely against religion, if that's what you think. People can believe whatever they want to believe. They have their own minds and their own beliefs, as do I. The original poster asked for our thoughts, and that's just how I feel. I've tried praying in the past (when I was at my lowest) and some higher power didn't come to my rescue. In my opinion, religion is nothing more than a fantasy.

Dying does not have to be a bad thing, no. The process can't exactly be enjoyable though (unless, of course, you die peacefully in your sleep). What is a bad thing, however, is when innocent children who have yet to properly live have their lives stolen from them so soon. It's tragic and it happens everyday. I'm just saying that if there is a god - which there may be, I can't say there isn't for certain - he/she could've saved those children and those teachers, right? This "god", who is supposedly all-seeing and all-knowing, could have allowed those children to fully experience the things that any child should in life. There could be a god, sure. But if there is, he/she must be very sick minded to allow innocent people to suffer.

Maybe he did save them from living in this stupid planet lol

Maybe in the other world they can live and experience things that every child should :P

That's if you believe that there's another place (Heaven). Personally i have no religion and don't believe any of it.

From what I've learned on other forums including this one is that arguements about religon doesn't lead to anything especially if your calling someones god a twat. Unless we had people that could have intellectual debates in a kind respectuful manner, but this is EOserv so the chances of that happening are zero to none.

This is quite true if more people followed the bible perhaps they would not learn so much about god but rather focus on living a happy and normal life that the bible speaks about and abiding by the laws, and teachings it provides, the bible is not the answer to life, just a way of living life to it's fullest.

But then you get idiots who try to do that and then when something goes wrong they blame god for not helping them/doing anything. We all have our own free-will whether we choose to follow a religion or not is our own choice, but obviously the bible is not telling people to go kill innocent children and that's one thing we should all remember and take into consideration.

There is a lot of life's lessons in the bible, and general aspects of life that encourage good rather then the idealism of the world being a sinful piece of shit and everyone should just die along with the devil.

I think if you want to not believe in god and then blame him for not doing anything is quite bad, the real question is, Why didn't you do anything? Why did you all sit there, choose not to believe in anything "good", and let it happen.

If people had a good understanding of the bible i'm sure they wouldn't be out there killing innocent children like this. The more people that give up hope and rebel, the more evil there will be in this world, whether you like to admit it or not.

I don't know about all the things she posted but, some of it is true. Especially the part where he wipes out a land of peoples just so the Israeli's can claim that land their own. Also, the whole thing about raping women and making them their wife, not true. Definitely, not true.

Just my opinion:

Religion started out as a way for primitive people to try to understand the world and turned into a way for Churches to take advantage of their gullibility and monopolize power and money. It's all bullshit.

But I do acknowledge that there's a higher power, "God". I don't think that there's 1 "correct" religion though because everyone has their own relations with God. Not everyone can fit into 1 generic standard. Everyone's different.

He that is able to receive it, let him receive it."  (Matthew 19:12 ASV)  I don't know why anyone would follow the teachings of someone who literally tells all men to cut off their privates.

    The God of the Bible also was a big fan of ritual human sacrifice and animal sacrifice.

In a way it's stupid to say "Fuck the religion"

It's the reason why things like this happen

If we were all "religious" in the way that we follow what Bible says we would share love and peace, there wouldn't be people who would do shit like this..

If we followed the rules that were pointed out in Bible, doesn't matter if they were written by God or some wise person, world would be a far better place to live in.

If more people believed in heaven and hell they would care about the consequences and not feel like they are allowed to do wtf ever they want like this guy did.

I disagree. I can't be bothered to type every single reason why the Bible is not at all wonderful, so this is taken from the internet:
"It always amazes me how many times this God orders the killing of innocent people even after the Ten Commandments said â€Ã…“Thou shall not killâ€Ã‚.  For example, God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people (1 Chronicles 21).  God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value (Deuteronomy 3).  He orders another attack and the killing of â€Ã…“all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and assesâ€Ã‚ (Joshua 6).  In Judges 21, He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife! Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody!  In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church!  In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered.

    The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 and Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9). 

    This type of criminal behavior should shock any moral person.  Murder, rape, pillage, plunder, slavery, and child abuse can not be justified by saying that some god says itâ€Ã¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾ÃƒÃ¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¢s OK.  If more people would actually sit down and read the Bible there would be a lot more atheists like myself.
