Here is another idea. ( as short as possible )
EO-Villian uprising (or whatever)
Every private server is about a hero who trains, harvest, and grows to be a, ..... stronger hero. Right? What about another diffrent perspective? Alright, as you wish!
What if the player was the villian, instead of the hero? Perspective!
The player spawns into a world were he is a villian, trying to take over the world! An NPC at the start might say, "So youngster, You've reached adulthood. You know, I've watched you growup here in this villiage. Your pranks on the townsfolk were tollerated, then you
started lieing and stealing. Now, theres rumors that you may have killed someone. You've become a bad seed! You better watch out, the sherrif has his eye on you".
Lol. Wow,......who do villians have to worry about as enemies? guardsmen, The town sherriff, the judge, the govener, the army at higher lvl's, the king. Also, if he's trying to make his way up, he will have to take out other criminal factions. Maybe irrate citizens. This could outline
a basic story line.
Plus, quests could go like this. The quest giver could be an NPC named the players conscense. Lol. "You saw old man johnsons herd of cows out on his farm. Go kill 100 of his herd! you know you want to! Then you can have this reward you stole for yourself earlier today! Hurry up! Kill, his
cows!"
Or, maybe an evil spirit begins tutoring him. NPC evil spirit, "you want to take over the world? You have a lot to learn! fear not, I will guide you. You need to learn how to be the best theif! Go into the mayors house, and steal his wifes prize neckless! Maybe the player would have to
fight some body guards or something. the neckless could be in a chest in the mayors bedroom. Maybe they have to find a key to the chest first.....w/e.
Stuff like that. Maybe to train on, a map could be made were it looks like some towns people are having a picknick. The player comes in and kills them all to train on. Or if thats to morally incorrect for you,.......a map were the mayors guards are slaughtered for exp!
And, it cant be coded into the game, i dont think, but everyone is gonna hate the player. So towns could be used as maps, were the citizens are agressive attackers. Plus, merchants wouldnt sell to a known criminal, so buying from them is out. The player must get gear and weapons
from, crafting, rewards, drops, finding in chests. Maybe they have a secret hideout, instead of a town that normal hero's would have. A hideout were NPC's who are loyal to the player stay. This way, you can use these npc's as crafters, or merchants for the player. Throw the harvesting
area's in the hide out as well, because the player as a villian cant walk around mining and fishing out in the open. The people would tell the authorities.
Bosses that drop the good items could be the sheriff, the judge, the mayor,..........what ever. Or, other villians. There's a lot you could do with this actually. I know some players like playing the bad guy.
At the end, instead of a evil boss to kill thats trying to destroy the world, the player, as a villian trying to take over the world has to kill the King, or emperor. So the main boss would be one of these, or some one similar.
Anyway,......I wasnt crazy about this idea myself, but I realize its got a lot of potencial. I would give it a try.
