I believe its more about the operating system being the reason its crashing. o.o Possibly the graphics card? I probably don't know what I'm talking about though. ;.;

Idk but. DO NOT get an apple cpu. Couldn't even run original Eo on there. ---

Toshiba and Asus laptops are made to last. What did you have in mind exactly, something made to last 3-4 years and used frequently or something just to use several times a month.
I highly advise not going with gateway or emachine, they tend to sell out of date software. Dell, HP, Samsung are all good as well but definitely not in the higher market.
Acer is just crap. I would rate them 1/10. ---

Well I understand that since I read your earlier topic. But as I said, it really depends on if you plan on using it as your main computer or just to use several times a month. Other factors as well but this is one of the main ones. ---

yes im buying a new main computer and a very good computer to not crash everytime i open map editor, this laptop is pretty crappy anyway its falling appart. the w key is broken i use key tweak for my w, the screen is coming off the hinge and has a line down the screen, the space bar is glued on and
the hard drive case snapped just from being put into a laptop bag. o.o pretty poo right ---

You won't be able to run EO as is, of course it would have to be altered. I don't have much knowledge of what would have to be changed, although I know there were a few clients people had, that ran on an apple computer, sadly I lost my files so I no longer have it otherwise I would upload it.
@Tails if you want like a mainstream computer I would recommend a gateway computer to everyone. They will last you a long time. I think my laptop is going on its 7th year, with a few more to come it seems like. *Knock on wood*

Alright, well that helps narrow it down a bit.
Now, I would generally suggest that you try and get a laptop in the $500 range if you want it to be your new main computer, however, as of recently technology has been rapidly increasing. The laptop that I bought this time last year has dropped about $100 in value.
So personally, unless you are thinking of hardcore gaming, I advise you go for something in the $300-$400 range (Assuming you have a lot of money to spare to begin with).
Whatever you do, I highly (Can't stress it enough), do not get a netbook.
Ronnie, then you have gotten one of the better models they have created or taken real good care of it. All the gateways that my family and friends have purchased have went to crap in about two years. ---

dells are good for what you need i know thus because i had one myself and i was doing the same things, but it only lasted 2 years. i'd do a little research to find the one to suit you're needs.vv

Please do not get a Dell. I have had two. And both did not make it past 2 years. And I treat my computers like I treat my car. With love and care. ;]
INB4 the person above me. Exactly why you shouldn't get a Dell his or hers didn't last 2 years either.
