i am not allowed to get a hub installed the housing manager will not give me permition to do so.
Hubs aren't useless wireless devices, at least not during the period that I knew them in. Nobody should have any right to forbade you from using these. There really isn't a reason for somebody to forbade you to use a wireless router either, especially if you have it secured. Tell your land lord to

well there stupid excuse is something like this "unfortunatly we can not allow you to get individual interned hubs installed in your flats, incase of change in surcombstances." (its a temp place of 2 years max)
its funny because we are allowed to get a fucking tv licence. there full of crap and i cant wait to move out. ---
