Hey guys, so i have a 3connect dongle. i am not allowed to get a hub installed the housing manager will not give me permition to do so.

how do we host our server with a dongle internet connection:?

any advice is great as this has me puzzled, lol thanks

A dongle is a tiny piece of hardware, which connects to computers. The standard dongle is usually a portable and handy device that resembles the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Flash Drives. you might get lucky and find a default open port. for like remote support or something. i read this earlier.

you could use a port checker and ping all the standerd ports first to try and find a open one/ then look for non standerd ones to use with eoserv.

With a 3G dongle you will connect directly to the provider's mobile network, which implies you have no direct control over the ports.
But there's really no need to, because you will get assigned a single IP address, where no port forwarding is needed - you have only one device behind the IP, as there's not router present. Port forwarding is not needed, as the device's IP address corresponds with the external IP address assigned to you by the mobile service provider.

So in short, the physical device connected through 3G is assigned to with a dedicated IP address, so no port forwarding is even needed. There is just one question though: what ports does the service provider allow you to choose? Keeping in mind they don't like heavy trafficking, certain ports (in)famous for exactly such are probably blocked for use.

also when i have found out which ones to use can i still use this on no-ip.com?

Pretty sure gateway. Try put gateway IP on Adress bar on your browser, might take you to your router configs.

its not a router its a dongle. which means i cant post it in the adress bar because it will find nothing.
i mean would my eosource work if i put the 3connect IP in the no-ip.com website? >portforward dongles ip<

You cannot portforward a dongle, as I said in the other post it connects to a celluar tower (which is like a big router) that they have blocked all ports on. There are a very few cell providers that allow port forwarding (which usually you have to pay extra money.) call your provider and ask them. Otherwise buy a vpn. =3

yea but then i couldnt connect to the eoserv. from lots of different errors. O.O its so confusing
