ok so eoserv is not working for me at all.


i am wondering if eosource is easyer to setup and maintain than eoserv?

and am i allowed to add new map,clothes,sprites,npc's,quests?

yes. you are able to do this because it is just a copy of eoserv with new features.

Yeah it's the same thing basically except it's closed source. It's a lot easier to maintain for inexperienced people. Once you get good at it and get a better knowledge of coding and shit then it would probably be a better idea to switch to EOServ, since there's more possibilities you can have using that. However with what EOSource provides you with you can make a very good server.

Yeah you can put level restrictions on maps. And level requirements for weapons and armors too.

well my idea is kind of restricted because i dont want anyone else to take it but im guessing its already been taken.

well basically one of the main features of my game will have a dungion. you cant go in untill you accept the quest from the gaurd outside, and only your level can enter, there are 3/5 different types of dungions.

could this be coded on eosource?

You can have it warp you when you step on that position while the quest is active. You can also have it check your level inside the quest.

You don't need a code to check if they talked to the guard and if they're an appropriate level. The quest system can do that. Simply have it go to a state in the quest like this after they talk to the guard (assuming the guard is a quest).

state dungeon

{

rule EnterCoord(map, x, y) goto warp

}

state warp

{

action SetCoord(map, x,  y);

rule Always()goto dungeon

}


And to check the level, you would just need this: rule StatGreater("level", 19)goto dungeon

That would only let them go in if they were 20 or above in level.

The idea has been attempted several times, I have a quest format for Dungeon instances so you just have to edit the Id's and some of the text, might be able to release it if you want but i'm not sure yet.

This is basically what AO has done. It's a good idea though. Yes, it can be done. Almost anything can be done by using the quest system. Once you learn how to use that you should be set with nearly everything lol.
