Not an expert on movie/video editting but:

1) Two different cameras running. Could use just one camera but it would be weird to go back and do it later. Not the same reactions, etc.

2) Have two different layers of video. PiP is what you are referring to by multiple screens. Adobe premier seems to be one program that allows it, Dont know if movie maker does, or if there are any free to use programs.

The link I gave you isn't a link on how to do it, just helping you find a search term if you want to look into how to do it.

I used to do livestreams in a similar fashion. I used Xsplit and had it set up to take input from the game window I was using and to use my webcam and overlay that in the corner. Xsplit is a primarily livestream type program, but it can also be used to record files without streaming, and you can edit them with other programs later.

Hello loonie moonie tunes? XD ummm well I know of people who post commentary's of their Call of Duty gameplays on Youtube..They use a Capture card (cheap/bad quality) or a HD PVR(expensive/good quality) which they put in to the back of their console and that then records their gameplay and they can then edit that on their pc...hope this helped

Moonie, There many ways of doing this. I've made some let's plays In the past and some programs I used for the computer are, Fraps, Bandicam, and camtasia studio.

When It comes to Xbox etc.. You have to invest money into the supply's you will need to accomplish a let's play. With things such as a Capture card, or a HD PVR or DVR Capture card such as a Dazzle which can be bought off eBay or amazon. (as far as I know).

Editing software they most likely use are Sony Vegas and Adobe After Effects.

(I know I did mention some things brenm15 said but this is based off my knowledge.)

Well this is only the knowledge I posses on this topic there very well could be more ways to do this...

Well if you like both of those commentators then you are obviously looking at playing on the computer as well as an xbox for a ps3 doesn't matter which one.

Let's start with the xbox, first off all you will need a recording device(HD PVR, Dazzel, Black Magic). I have used the PVR in the past and I loved it. Now the wires all depend on if you have turtle beaches or any other type of gaming headset(not the normal shitty one). You can find tutorials on how to set up your recording device on youtube.

Now with the computer, i highly suggest you get Camtasia which allows you to record your screen. You can record games like minecraft and any other WINDOW GAME! They must be a game that is playing in window or Camtasia will not capture it. As far as microphones go, you can use anything that you can speak into, but i highly suggest you get the Blue Snowball or Blue Yeti. These are both professional mics.

The last thing you want to look at is editing software to put all the greatness into one! I've used two programs before, one was Sony Vegas 10 and the other is Pinnacale Studios HD 14. The Pinnacle came with the HD PVR which is a plus since you don't have to buy it seperatly. The one I used the most was Sony Vegas and Camtasia's eiditing program that comes with it. Both are great to use in anyway. If you have more questions, just message me :D
