Well my little brother is a major fan of the Card game in Final Fantasy VIII, So i decided to Start Making all the cards home made :) there 110 Cards total i have 22 so far.

Anyways i figure i would show you the progress of his Christmas Present haha, Right now the Cards are Just Card-stock but will eventually be Front and Back and Laminated.

Fuck yeah, I love Triple Triad. There's a Final Fantasy card mini-game program somewhere which lets you play it with other people online (also the perfect place to rip your card graphics from ;P).

It's a shame the cards aren't double-sided (they could be put on a rack to hide the back-sides if you wanted, Closed is arguably a shitty rule to cater for), I'm guessing that the red/blue tokens are there for that. It would be a lot easier and more fun to just pull out 5 random laminated little cards each and play on any flat surface, without having to fiddle around with tokens, and it makes it a lot easier and familiar to see the red/blue backgrounds.

Are you going to make a board? The Elemental Rule also puts random elemental properties on tiles of the board, so it would be neat if you could add that somehow (little laminated icons you can slot in slightly carved out areas on the board or something). Also print out a fancy looking laminated rule sheet to finish it off.

There's some awesome sets of cards cards out there you're gonna have to compete with. =p

I will have to look for that so i can get the rest of the cards haha :)

And that's where i'm stuck right now, i'm not completely sure if i want to do front blue red back or if i doing closed hands, i would ask my brother which he would prefer but he has no idea i'm doing this haha. And right now i just got out an old end table and took a sharpie to draw the board on it, not the best looking but it works for now, i think once the cards are laminated i will make craved in places for the card and the elemental icons to go.

Preferably i would like to make it red and blue because then there's no tokens to worry about cause they a pain haha. There are so many Cards out there, i wish i had the money to just buy a complete set made by Bandi; but they don't sell them anymore now you have to hunt on ebay and spend $100's..But i think he will be pleased with me making them from scratch. I will try and get some more cards printed today and if not ill work on the table a bit and then take a photo.

There's that. I used to play that with my friends, when I was younger. It's pretty well done.

Note: It's not only FF VIII cards, it has some other FF Monsters/NPCs/Heroes
