I personally fucking hate politics. I hate the bull shit these two are doing specifically. They spent all that time smearing the other guy's name in the dirt, and when it comes close to the end, they try to butter up their own names like some kind of egomaniac. It's not fooling anyone, and it's disgusting. I want them both to lose, and for government to fall.

You don't want anarchy. That's when the stronger, smarter, and socially compatible kill off of the weaker, dumber, and socially inept.
So you want people to troll you? Honestly I would rather prefer an anarchy over a socialist USA.

Politics keeps America in order, like it or not. The problem is that the greedy and the foolish end up being elected and we end up screwed over. That doesn't mean politics are corrupt, just that a few bad apples can ruin the bunch.

If we elect Romney, all hope is gone. With Obama in office, he might pull off what he planned.
Romney, is just made of money.

Legit vote goes to Vermin Supreme.

Half of you are either to ignorant or are just retarded. Before I make my little speech I have to mention I wouldnt bother wasting your silly little Karma points on this post but hey, minus all you want. America's government is probably one of thee best thought out governments throughout the world. You can't really complain all that much. Yes there is the usual "Wahha taxes are to high" or "this law is dumb". Come on, when you compare taxes in other countries to that of America, you'll realize that we as Americans have it pretty nice. Some other countries taxes are almost doubled compared to USA's, taking in account for the difference in the value of the money. Now this is directed at Plasmastar and others who have his mindset, before anyone says "Oh your looking for a verbal fight",absolutely not, just a grown up conversation. Why in the heck would you even make this statement "I want them both to lose and governments to fail". Seriously, you seem extraordinarily ignorant and that might be the most unintelligent thing I've heard come out your mouth. Governments provide stability and order. You must be living in your own little world to think otherwise. Without government there is no order, economy, law enforcement, stability etc. Chaos starts and will kill off mankind before you know it. And for other people in other countries who think America should rot. Stop being so jealous (braces self for an "I'm not jealous" reply) without America your freedom, rights and economy would all be in the gutter... And for those of you who like to criticise America without even living in the country, you really have no experience nor right to. Lets not believe everything you hear on YouTube or elsewhere for that matter. Your not experiencing shit.

Now that that's over with (for now) If I were turning 18 in time I would be voting to reelect President Obama. Taking into consideration what he was handed when he first took office, caused by Bush, it's honestly remarkable that America has even gotten this far. He really has a steady mindset and knows what he needs to further do to get America even more on track than what he has already achieved. When I hear people say that Obama hasn't done enough I just want to yell at them ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY. It takes time to for example get the economy going, especially since America was in a deep recession. If you vote Govener Romney to office I can infer that you are either very wealthy or just for the fact that you don't care. Romney has showed he has no idea what he will do to get America on the right track. If you say different you clearly weren't watching last nights debate. He says one thing, then noticed Obama is getting praised for doing something different so he tries to quickly shift gears and follow. We don't need a follower, we need a leader.  End of story. If you haven't noticed by now I'm very involved in the debate haha. Don't mean to offend anyone so no hard feelings.

with all due respect, fuck politics.

What a great mindset, by all means lose your opportunity and give of your fundamental democratic right your only making peoples vote worth more.

i'm not even old enough to vote yet. 1 more year...
still don't plan on voting either way...

Then don't complain when your tuitions are too high or your minimum wage is to low or when there's more stricter laws on weed.

got you at the weed part bitch hehe.

you live in canada, the fuck do you care?
The same corporations in US are in Canada, if your country economy continues to decrease we are bound to get effected, there's also other factors that come into the equation like; trade and government relations. Pretty similar to how the Greece economy crisis hurt the Europeans global market.

It's also because our educational system makes us learn about american history and government yet you guys know nothing about us pretty sad when you know more than an average american.

@Ronnie your post was beautiful.

Elections are like buying Disney movies... Even if the main character isn't Mickey Mouse it will still cost you out the ass. Vote for whom ever, pay taxes anyway.

Considering Nerva's statement and considering the fact that what happens in America ultimately affects other countries especially its allies some might want to be informed and some are actually interested, apparently not you, but that's fine. Just you don't have to bash it. The current politics fundamentals are mainly what matters there will be politicians bickering in most other countries as well.

Romney, then he can die off mysteriously and Paul Ryan can take his place. 8D

It's interesting seeing how many people where "Nobama", then Romney comes along and everyone is back on the Obama-bandwagon because Romney isn't really much better...
Frankly, I'd shoot myself before I'd have to pick. Luckily, I can't vote, hoo-hah.

Post #166850 Re: Mitt Romney or Obama?

Neither.

I don't know for sure who I'm voting for yet, but it's definitely not one of those two. The debate last night was between two people who are great politicians, but a great politician does not make a great president. If it WERE between these two, I'd vote for Romney for his economic plans and Obama for his social liberalism. If there were some sort of hybrid person that had both those traits they would be my first choice. If...if...if...

For the other Amurricans: don't be so blinded by our party system that you immediately side democrat or republican. I hate our party system with a passion and if I could do something about it, I would get rid of it completely. Our country has not existed without political parties for nearly 200 years, so I know it's pretty well ingrained in our brains to pick one or the other - but seriously consider other options. They're out there, and we need to get the message out that just because our government and media are dominated by these parties doesn't mean they are the only two things to choose from.

I'm considering Gary Johnson (Libertarian) because of his AMA on reddit. He answered a lot of good questions (more than ten like Obama's AMA) and I agreed with most of what he was saying. I'd also like to throw out there that I don't like the job Obama has done as president, and while I can respect how difficult the job must be, I think it's time we give someone else a try (just preferably not Romney...). And that goes for our senators and congressmen/women as well.

I'd also like to link everyone to this online quiz. It's an evaluation of who you actually side with based on all sorts of issues and it includes ALL the well-known candidates (not just Romney/Obama). I encourage you to find out who you really agree with most.
