computer help needed
ok so my computer has had a virus for awhile now, i figured oh well when it got bad id just do factory restore.
so today this thing popps up asking to access something about my harddrive. i kept pressing NO but it wouldnt fucking go away so finaly i just pressed yes and i get d.ced from the internet, my desktop turned black, my icons start disappearing, everything starts getting deleted. so i shut it
off.
so i just now got the internet back, it shut off the wireless internet connection thing i got it back on somehow.
anyways i tried to do factory restore which if i remeber correctly rite when im turning on the comp press F10 and press HDD recovery. i did that and pressed yes and all it did was bring me to the "windows shut down unexpectanly" thingy where u can choose run normaly, run in safe mode, run safe
mode with networking.
^ HOW THE HELL DO I RESTORE TO FACTORY SETTINGS?!?!?!
i also deleted my old user account on this comp, and made a new one (by all old files D;) i think that might have helped a tiny bit.
i mainly wanna do factory restore to get rid of w.e is wrong with my comp and also when i do factory restore i get a few months free trial of norton anti-virus....
so plz help u guys D: ur all smart! ---

If you don't have a back up made on a partition or a second harddrive you probably wont be able to factory restore.. I know I can't.. What I'd do is just get a copy of windows and reinstall it all. Good luck mooniez. ---

Depends on type of computer, some you can do straight from the control panel, for example, I think most Toshibas you have to hit F8 and 0 at the same time or something similar. Google it for your type of computer.

Yeah lol, here I copied the steps, I did it about a year ago. Also these may not be the exact steps, but I'm sure all up to 4 will work, and then it should all be easy and simple anyways.
1. Copy all your files and documents to an external storage device. 2. Shut down the computer. 3. Turn the PC back on and hit the F8 key repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Option Screen appears. 4. Click "Repair Your Computer" if you are not already on it and then press ENTER 5. choose your country and click OK 6. On the "System Recovery Options Screen" click "Restore Application" which is the last option. 7. Follow the on-screen instructions 8. When prompted, click on "Full Factory Recovery" 9. "Next" 10. Click "Yes" 11. you will notice for a while it seems like nothing is happening, give it some time. 12. After some minutes, recovery will complete and you click "Finish"

Saying "yes norton will help" is like saying yeah cough syrup can help if you're on you're death bed...
I've had a virus then installed norton and norton did nothing but bog my computer down..
If you could find a free scanner and scan your computer, if you can post the virus we could help you more..
EDIT:
Don't copy all your files unless your sure they are clean.. lol if not you will have to just do this same thing over and over...

I had the full version of norton, downloaded and installed after I was infected this was a few years ago mind you norton didn't help at all.
But if she would just go find the name of the virus removal could be simple. Also I've been pretty safe since I installed Malwarebytes full version and Comondo firewall seems to keep things safe.. Comondo also has the option to run programs in a sandbox which is a nice plus.
Edit:
Also if her computer is like mine and needs "back up files' to restore to factory then she would of been screwed specially if the virus removed restore points, I honestly would just go buy a windows disk just in case.

Ah I see, could be before the new source code. But yeah rather not talk about it xD. I think try a system restore, and if you still have it then go with one of the virus removal programs :P K im off lol

F8 and 0 right after you hit the power button to turn it on, there won't be anything on screen just keep doing it repeatedly until you see the thing to restore xD.
