| ![]() Well, two to be exact. I'm planning to upgrade from ATI (single card) to nVidia with SLI. I'm looking at one card in particular. With SLI it would give me 2gb of video memory and the ability to run my three monitors on the same logical GPU instead of running the 3rd monitor using onboard graphics. However, with Amazon loving to take my money, I also saw a version of the same card that would double my total video memory (without doing much else) for a grand total of $30 more (for both cards) than I would spend on the first card(s). Some questions I have: Should I spend the extra cash for double the memory? Does this look like a good card? Will two of these cards run on a 750w PSU? Will 1333mhz RAM and a dual-core CPU potentially limit the performance of the cards? Is there a better card out there for less money? Both cards got good reviews on newegg and amazon, but I want to be sure about this before I go and spend the money. --- class EOSERV { Programmer | Oldbie Open source EO Client: https://github.com/ethanmoffat/EndlessClient };

| ![]() Having a GTX 470 SLI setup, I can honestly tell you running two monitors from one card causes a lot of heat. When I was using a single 470 my idle was 70c with two monitors, 90-120c under load. On one minotor it was 35-40c idle, and 70-90c under load. So, I would recommend the EVGA GTX 560 SSC which uses two fans and an open cooling system. These cards cost the same as the 2gb version, but are only 1gb. 2gb of video memory is more then enough, although I would recommend upgrading your ram to 1600 Mhz if your motherboard supports it. Here's the card I am talking about: http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-1024MB-Graphics-01G-P3-1466-KR/dp/B005DJEICE This is my recommendation, but do whatever you see fit ^^ Oh, also, make sure your motherboard will support two PCI-e x16 cards, or the SLI will not work correctly! --- Eat shit, bro. I support Ephixa [http://ephixa.com/]. Fuck Skrillex, Sonny Moore is no more.

| ![]() Unfortunately after doing some research I found that my mobo doesn't support SLI since it uses an AMD chipset. Probably something I should have figured in the first place...Guess I won't be upgrading then unless I can find someone to buy all my old components that I would be replacing. Would CrossFire work between the same graphics chipset on two different cards? I have a Radeon HD 5750 with 1gb of memory but the model is discontinued. The product page is here. It's really not that bad of a card for what I do (epic gamez lol). Should I even bother with this older model or look for something new? Moreover, should I even bother buying ATI or just wait until I need a brand new computer and build it with nvidia?
