Asus Transformer Infinity VS The New iPad

So, I've been wanting to buy a tablet since the first iPad came out...but I'm one of those people that just can't get anything because they know something better will come out eventually in the future. However, I
can't wait any longer...The new Asus Transformer Infinity is the mother of all android tablets so far, in my opinion. The specs are just..incredible! The iPad, though, also has it's goodies...which makes it a hard decision. Which to get?
Please stay away from the obvious fanboy statements, ye?
Asus Transformer Infinity Pad:
- 10.1 Inches
- Full 1920x1080 HD Display, which is using the 10-finger multi-touch technology
- Tegra 3 Graphics 1.6 ghz, Quad Core (no longer Tegra 3 mobile graphics)
- 32GB Memory
- 1GB Ram
- 2MP Front Camera, 8MP Rear Camera (both capable of Full HD video)
- SD Card slot (As well as a USB but only on the keyboard dock)
- $499 (Keyboard dock[accessory] is an extra $100-150)
The New iPad:
- 9.7 Inches
- Retina Display
- Smooth as a baby's skin when talking about performance
- Preferred by many by it's quality
- 16 GB of memory
- Dual Core with a A5X chip
- 5 MP iSight camera
- $499

Re: Asus Transformer Infinity VS The New iPad
I'd say the Asus is better, because of the customization. Without a jailbreak, the Ipad does not compare with the asus in customization, but has a broader or a more variety of apps, games, etc. Apple also has great customer support.
It's a hard one.
And if you're a techy guy, and want a smoother interface, with a large processor, I'd say go with the Ipad.
But, technology is always learning from their mistakes, and constantly upgrading. Wait a couple months, and there will be a tablet better than the Ipad.

I was making the same assumptions but I've been watching YouTube videos and the performance of the Transformer Infinity
really puts the iPad to shame, in most videos. Also, the other thing that is making me over think this is the fact that with the iPad i would only be getting 16GB of memory while with the Transformer Infinity I get twice that amount and the ability to expand even more with the SD card
slot....gah! ---

That's the thing about Android. More capacity = more customization. Apple wants to stick with their ways. ---

The Tegra 3 will blow you away. I have the transformer 2 with the same processor and I've had this argument with my idiot husband. I can load the browser and load the xkcd front page in the time it takes his stupid ipad to start that god awful browser. Battery life is also better as the tegra
acutally has 5 cores (not four) it has a "ninja" core that only runs at 500Mhz and vastly reduced power consumption that is used when you are just using your system for general use. With the keyboard dock I can easily get 15-19 hours usage between charges (about a week for me, I charge it every
Sunday).
I have to say though, if your into anything "audio" The iPad has much much better sound hardware. The one thing I hate about Android devices is the complete lack of line-in.

Ahhh, this is what I needed lol Thanks, Sordie. I will definitely get the transformer then. That "ninja" core thing seems interesting....I wouldn't be using so much of the battery then since what I'd do most is browse the internet and watch movies, etc.
The audio isn't much of a worry to be honest, since I'd be using headphones 80% of the time :P

I would theoretically try to steer clear from apple, since, well, I hate them for some reason. But that Android tablet looks slick as hell, and the keyboard dock is to die for. Android is all about customization and that's what I like about it. I really feel like I'm using a mini computer when I
use my 7 inch tablet I have.

Apple is Apple, we can't deny that. But anyway, I prefer the Ipad since it's better known. ---

That is a horrible way to base what you like more.
I would go with the Transformer obviously, cause its coolshit.
Though right now, Autodesk Sketchbook Mobile is the only version available for android, not the pro, which is on Ipad.
Only differences are a couple brushes though.

Re: Asus Transformer Infinity VS The New iPad
I have the Asus eee Pad Tranformer (TF101) and I love it. You're looking at the TF700 so if model numbers tell you anything then this will be much better than what I have. Sordie is right about the keyboard extending the battery life, it's incredible how long I can use mine without needing a
charge. I watched "Gandhi" for a class paper (3 hour movie) on mine and still had more than enough battery life to spare.
Go with the Tranformer. It's an amazing device that blows the iPad away completely.

Yeah, i'm definitely gonna go with the TF700 then lol I'll just wait for the keyboard dock for it comes out...or grab a used dock for the Prime at amazon or
something...since i heard it isn't fully compatible with the TF700 ---
