Chaos and prodigy have been working on minecraft eo for a while although a texture pack would be extremely helpful to them. Check out their topic its on rakuhana in GD, they did an awesome job

Post #155756 Re: minecraft-endless online

I have a minecraft server online as of right now, and I'd be more than happy to make a new, "superflat" map so that we can build an EO minecraft. If you want me to, just lemme know. I can host the server basically 24/7

As of right now I have a plugin installed that gives the server an economy. I'm about to add towny so that we can name the towns and etc. We can even create the shops haha.

Edit: Towny is installed.

do you realize that the largest map on eo is probably 400x400 for maze/race?

Minecraft maps have never been 1000x1000. They use to be limited to a surface size of 1282, 2562 or 5122 dependant on the generator, but now it uses a chunk system and are only limited by the fact the coordinate system uses 32-bit integers. So they are limited by 4294967295 units per dimention. (although all maps are always limited to 256 blocks depth).  More than enough for EO's little world =P It should also be noted that the ACTUAL max limit of a playable minecraft (assuming unlimited memory) map is 32000000 blocks radius from the centre, including sky, due to bugs *ahem* limits in the code.

EDIT: Actually did a bit more maths on this...

Theoretical mc surface size is -(215) to 215-1 per dimension or 4,294,967,295 blocks per dimension so 4,294,967,295 meters2 surface size (assuming 1 block = 1 meter) or 266,876,895 miles2

Earth = only 14,033.5 miles2

Way more than enough to make a complete map of the earth meter per meter so way more than enough to generate create EO's world =P

*Edited to remove my initial incorrect maths XD (I edited so many times because I'm an idiot XD)*

Post #156107 Re: minecraft-endless online

OK So I'm pretty geeky so if anyone cares:

Assume a "pure" grain of sand is composed of SiO2S.

Assume a single grain of sand is 1mm3

Assume the single grain of sand is compacted to it's natural crystalline layout.

...then...

Using one Minecraft "block" to represent one atom it would take 18,160,790,209 full minecraft "surface" maps to create a voxel of a single grain of sand. (I'm not including depth because people mistake empty sky on minecraft for "none-map" when it actually is XD)

Isn't nature amazing?

Edit: If you want to recreate each grain of sand on the earth in minecraft (a tiny blip in the universe) , using current consumer NAND memory it would take a disk about 610,200,000 times the size of the known universe to store the map =D

EDIT: ISN'T NATURE AMAZING?!?!?!

EDIT EDIT:  Oops not just sand, soz I get pretty excited with the maths.. I'll do just sand tomorrow when I'm not so sleepy... not that anyone cares or gets as excited about the maths as me XD
