i will be holding a quake 3 pk/arena server for a few hours tonight. 
  its a free demo from 1999. there is no master server any more.

if you follow these steps you can connect and play.

pick multiplayer

pick specify

add my ip   65.25.57.247               "don't change port"

click fight.
its set to 12 players max. but others can view during full server or team death matches
