My RAT - Sort of..
Before you rape my thread, let me say this:
I have developed a client and server that you can bind with an .exe, like a RAT, but you do not have Remote Administrator Tools. It displays everyone's IPs and what they're doing, but you can't see their desktop and you cannot do anything beyond that.
This is a program you can use instead of a cheat guard, if you do not have the skills to build one.

not a fan, it might be able to be manipulated to do more than just that, making it easier for people who want to fuck with others.

Could I possibly mention this "spyware" in the terms and conditions/agreements? For the Game I mean. ---

You might consider going the route of some other people and just adding a client-side program blacklist using WinAPIs like EnumWindows

thats not a game guard , thats called abusing people..... the easiest method of a game guard , that you inject a dll with the game exe, that scans for certain windows and process names and scans for certain strings in opened windows .....

I have complete control over my game. I have developed it myself, meaning I do not have a team to manage the game and players, and so I want direct proof of 3rd party programs. ---

Yes, but the invasion of privacy is too far. I would just create an online list of memory editing/dll injecting programs and shutdown and report the ip to the server using what error suggested. ---

Re: My RAT - Sort of..
I honestly support this idea, just not the execution. Rather than dropping the program like 'gameguard' does, i believe it should do ask described - take the person's IP address and their currently running tasks and report them to the server. BUT I don't think anyone should have any control with
that information beyond the server software itself. The server should be able to check running processes and if say a packet manipulation program is running you will be kicked with a warning message and 1 strike into their account information (do this using the mysql database). Then if they are
caught again, strike 2 and t (maybe 60 mins?) ban again presented with a warning message about abuse. if caught a third time all characters will be reverted to having no items and a t day(s) ban. This would be a great feature without being abusive imho.
I apologize for my horrible grammar, I'm tired.

Re: My RAT - Sort of..
Even having it check running processes is an invasion of privacy. Blizzard Entertainment has an anti-cheat system built into their games called the Warden. It watches different memory values depending on what it feels like watching at the time, and if they are manipulated at all, the game shuts
itself down and a report is generated and sent to Blizzard about what was edited, how and why. When Warden was first announced, there was a massive outcry because its original intention was to watch the processes list, the reason it does not is because Blizzard's legal team advised them not to do
it.
There is also an interesting thing that stops the game from running if you have specific things open. For instance, if you have any window open that has the words "Cheat Engine" in the header, their games will simply not launch at all until that window is closed.
