You know what I hate? People like you. Maybe if you had any idea what it's like to grow up with basically nothing - to watch your mother suffer from exhaustion as she struggles to pay the rent - you would appreciate your $5000 a lot more. Believe it or not, I consider $5000 to be a lot of money.
I'd be grateful if I ever had that much. Hell, I'm grateful for everything I have right now. It may not be much but I'm grateful for it.
As you said, most of that money was given to you. You have a "free-time" job. In case you're unaware of this, some people don't have "free-time" jobs. Some people HAVE to work if they want their next meal. Perhaps you should stop being such an ignorant little shit and take a look around,
because not everybody gets whatever the hell they want.

Everywhere is a struggle, Prices go up but wages don't. Here in the UK fuel is £1.39 a litre of fuel so cars takes around £60 to fill up. As half of your are americans i'll translate the prices ( $2.16 per litre = $8.64 per gallon = $93.07 Full Tank). Everything is so expensive :(
