@ontopic - Has anyone researched much on all of these doomsday prophecies floating around? In my personal opinion, nothing will happen on the winter solstice this year.. It's interesting how so many cultures came to similar conclusions about the end of the world. However, I think it's simply the end of an Age, and the beginning of a new aeon of understanding and enlightenment. Thoughts?

I like this post, what do i believe in? i actually can't make up my mind atm my family is christain... i believe in god yes.. but i also believe in many other things, since the Bibles are all copied from one place? who knows who honestly wrote these bibles? was it actually sent from a Person god sent down named "Eli"? did god write the bible?! i don't know what to believe atm, but i also think we are only a VERY VERY small portion of the universe there is litterally no way we are the only life form in this universe, such as mars? i don't remember what they found but i know they found something, anyways to the point i believe there are other "Life forms" out there i wouldn't call them aliens Since we would be Aliens to them am i correct?

They claimed to have found ancient bacteria in a martian rock that they had discovered in Antarctica, however mainstream science played it off as nothing but natural rock formation, but clearly the formations were created by life and there is more than enough evidence to prove this.. There is so much misinformation out there that the only way to stay untainted is to possess a healthy skepticism, question everything, and try not to cling to the same ideas for too long. Have you ever wondered why Jesus is represented by a fish?

You're right, without religion, most of us wouldn't fear death or consequence. In my opinion, without religion we would be extinct by now from killing each other off. We can't survive without religion until we can accept each other's differences and quit attacking each other over them. Sadly, such a thing is far beyond us at this time. So to keep us from being savages, religion is here because laws mean nothing to a human who does not fear death. Religion can't keep us all in line though. There are still people who would rather act off emotion rather than logic.

I think this is a very interesting topic that we all tend to think about, however in saying that, there is no "one answer" or "correct answer" to what reality or the universe is, was or will be.

It just is and that's all it should be for now. Continuing such topics only get you hoping for an answer which leads only to utter depression, which then leads to something along the lines of "Shit i'm gonna die and lose my memories MY PRECIOUS MEMORIES".

So my word of advice: don't expect an answer, you'll be disappointed in the end especially if it wasn't what you wanted to hear.

Edit - One other interesting thing that comes into play is that, What is the universe? What is the world? We all seem to have our own views on it, and because of that fact alone it would be impossible for everyone to agree on "One thing", That's probably why it's just best to leave these topics for another day. Just sayin'

I believe the sphinx was built in the age of Leo and is much older than mainstream science will admit. It has been well documented to have heavy water erosion that would have taken thousands of years to get to the state that it is in. Well this doesn't make sense because mainstream science says that it can't be that old.. however the last time of heavy rainfall in the Nile valley was like 7 thousand BC, which is at the least 4,000 years older than they say the sphinx is. The Israelites made a golden calf as an idol in the story of Moses, because it was during the age of Taurus. Jesus is represented by a fish because of the age of Pisces. We are transitioning into the age of Aquarius. I believe that belief systems will change drastically over the next 100 years. I think he have an age of enlightenment to look forward to. The old religious structures no longer serve a purpose, and in my opinion should be forgotten, and universal oneness should be the accepted belief, rather than an anthropomorphic god that goes around judging people, punishing and rewarding.. I'm sorry but I can not believe that. I used to, I've been there, done that. I can not, no matter how hard I try, believe in Christianity again. Why? Because no one really knows who wrote the bible. There are Hebrew glyphs that we still haven't translated, and the bible has been altered so many times throughout history.. Not to mention the inconsistencies.. I do not believe in heaven or hell. The bible says that god loves his creations, unconditionally. Why.. would a god, and bare with me on this, why would a god - that loves his creations unconditionally, without condition punish his creations by sentencing them to an Eternity of torment?... Why do most Christians need promise of reward? Promise of a materialistic afterlife where they keep their human form? None of this makes sense to me. Why would you want to preserve yourself eternally in a human form? The soul has no form.. it's pure energy.. Not to mention, pretty much every religion claims that is the true religion, and everyone else is wrong. How in the hell can that be unless none of them are the true religion? How in the hell, can Christianity claim to be the true religion, when they can't even agree on it themselves!? That's why there are so many different sects, they can't even agree on their own beliefs.. In fact, if you take a look at the Hebrew bible, then look at the much more ancient Babylonian/Sumerian books, such as "The Epic of Gilgamesh," you realize that the Hebrew creation story is nothing but a simplified version of a much longer story that they stole from the Sumerians.. I believe humanity is much older than mainstream archaeologists claim. I believe that there existed a super advanced society during the last ice age. Perhaps it sank into the ocean, lost to time. Or perhaps it just lifted off? Point is, there is soooooo much evidence to point to the existence of an ancient undiscovered super advanced civilization that it isn't even funny. There is a map, that is older than Columbus, and I shouldn't have to explain why this is significant, but it matches ground penetrating radar photos of what Antarctica looked like without the ice. How could anyone know that type of detail back then!? It's been frozen for thousands of years, not to mention this map contained North and South America as well.. lol. 

So what is religion? It's a control mechanism. It keeps people in line. "give god what is god's and give Caesar what is Caesar's"

An intelligent, and opened mind is dangerous. The governments of the world know it, especially the American government, and they don't like it.

If anything I've said has offended anyone, forgive me, that was not my intention. This is all strictly my point of view..

I agree, we don't know who the bible was really writen by because that was my first thought of christianity do we really have proof of who is writing the bible? no we don't we never will i, wanna believe in god but honestly it's hard to when god doesn't answer prayers, or even give anyone a sign that he exists.. i honestly think we advanced for neanderthals.

This topic isn't about finding the answers.. this topic is about sharing opinions. This is a friendly intelligent debate, it isn't some carnival searching for answers. Nobody knows anything for sure, everyone has an opinion though, and my opinion is that I do know one thing is for sure, as far as the laws of physics are concerned; Perhaps the laws of physics are flawed, but it's the best way we can understand such our universe: E=MC squared.

No offense Remus, but I think your posts would be a little more interesting to read if you broke it up a little bit rather than making one huge block of text. Because honestly I want to read what you're saying, but it's summer, and I need reading to be at a minimal. I'm always open for new ideas but the huge block of text scares me away. (Yes, I can read pretty well)

I'm sorry, I'm a writer at heart. If people spent less time complaining about how much there is to read, and just read it, the United States wouldn't have some of the lowest education rates in the entire world. It's summer, I understand that, but I fail to see why that is a reason not to read. It's one thing if you do not want to read it, but it's totally different if you're going to complain about someone being detailed.. No offence to you either, I just think it's pointless to complain about how much someone types.. It's my nature to type a lot, always has been, if it annoys you, well forgive me, but I can't change just because some people don't want to read a lot..

Nononono I mean just like, instead of a block of text, just break the text up into smaller blocks. Write the same amount just space it out more so it's easy on my eyes. If that's not too much trouble for you.
