Good/Bad Servers
Hey EOSERV. So i logged on to this server, i saw sheep, hit a sheep a couple times, got 1 hit killed, i decided too tell an admin my concern and basically got flamed.
My Question:
Is there any decent server out there that has admins that care. A server that has monsters at the initial spawn for new people, that they can actually kill, gold that doesn't drop by the
100s(In the range from 5-35) would do. A server that has some interesting things to do, neat maps, maps that havn't been tooken from other people OR downloaded off EOSERV.NET. It would also be nice if you don't start off with items, however a dagger would be fine
:P.
Does anyone own, or know a server that has this stuff... Endless edge is a no. Already played it and got bored and quit.
Please don't post if your going to post with a "OH they all suck ass" or "troll.". Then don't bother posting, please.
I appreciate the time people take to post, that actually have a server they think is good. Thanks!

Re: Good/Bad Servers
The answer is no.
All servers have an increased drop rate, as well as lame monsters for beginners. Some are too difficult, and some are too easy. Haven't been on one yet that is truly balanced. By that I just mean challenging yet do-able for new players and experienced ones. Nobody likes getting
killed in one hit, but nobody likes 1 hit killing things either (unless it's PK, lol).
However these are EOSERV servers, and you can't really expect them to be perfect.

Re: Good/Bad Servers
While I don't log in much, I felt the need to comment on this. There have been decent (although not perfect) servers, in the past, but these days you hardly ever see them. They die to not being popular since everyone feels the need to use speed (something that shouldn't have existed to begin
with in my opinion), or they get killed off by ddosers, who really don't do anything for the community. I'd love to see more servers like ryou's, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I've played eo a long time, and I'm sure alot of others here have as well. After so many servers you think have the
potential to be great die, you really start to wonder *has eo really degenerated to this* (given I've thought this plenty of times, even without the forementioned state of eo).
Don't get me wrong, I still think eo can be saved, and there's a couple servers out there that I believe stand a chance even in eo's grim state, but yeah...I wouldn't get your hopes up. Though these days I'm only known for arena...there was once a time that even I leveled on the original
eo...and on a couple p servers that died. For now, I'd say don't join any of the existing servers, and just wait for some of the ones in advertisements to come out. The current servers out that I've looked at are utter fail (I won't mention server names, as I want people to judge for
themselves).
Edited for better spacing, I'm not used to posting on these, since I usually just look through it as a guest. Also fixed left out words/typos, due to the same thing. I was too focused on the spacing.

Re: Good/Bad Servers
The old BWP was like this. It was a real struggle to get to the good items though, and that's one of the things I didn't really like about it. The best items would drop off of things that would spawn once a week at best, and even then they were only a 1% drop rate, so you never knew if anything
would drop, and if something did, if it would be what you needed or not. And to even get to these things you had to go through absurdly long quests and get a key to a special area at the end of the quests, and those things took days to weeks to do.
If we were nothing else, we were definitely the highest difficulty EO server that has ever existed.

Re: Good/Bad Servers
There use to be tons of nice servers that the exp rate and drop rate were nice and not high now idk people make shit servers that you can level to 100 in like 20min and then they say its for fun :/ its just they bored and dona what else to do Endless Edge is prob your best bet it isn't as boring as
you think at low level its boring as hell but once you get to the right level and make some friends the servers pretty decent

Well thanks, I guess. I bet you was "Tidus" there? If so, long time no see, but anyways back to the topic. I think only the EE is pretty balanced at the moment. But of course it's only my opinion.

Re: Good/Bad Servers
I agree that there's not a lot of decent/balanced servers these days but I don't whether ye all do or not but a lot of the new servers that advertise before they're up ask for suggestions. I only recently advertised Dragonborn and I'm looking for suggestions but noone has commented saying any of
this and I think that if people are willing to complain they should look at developing servers and tell them what they want . After all every server aims to get players so what better way than having what they want :)

Sounds sort of like TFG, though bosses spawned regularily and always had something little to drop, the rare items for the most all had like .01% to drop. I think that was a good system. ---

and everyone was like "omg its too hard!!!" I'm starting to think Apollo is right when he says that the SLN is the last place to advertise if you want a successful server
