THIS ONLY CONCERNS PUBLICLY LISTED EOSOURCE SERVERS ON THE SLN/SERVERLIST

I am making this topic on behalf of eoserv's stupidity.

There is a security system (backdoor) in EOSource that has been added recently that allows me (elevations) and hollow (wesley) to have admin access on your server.

Why?

So we can moderate servers that contain illegal stolen content, backdoors, or are being malicious, or people that are being malicious to the server owners, and also to prove our identities.

What if we abuse it?

Why would we abuse this system? That would ruin the point of allowing users to make EOSource servers and the continued development on free-to-use closed source software.

Personal Information

All personal information such as passwords are not accessible with this security system (backdoor) nor will they ever be.

Security wise is this safe?

It is 100% safe and we will be providing updates and checks on a daily basis to ensure secure operation of servers with prevention of packet crash bugs and new exploits found in the original eoserv software (that still has not been fixed i might add Sausage if your reading this).

If you feel this is unjust simple DON'T USE EOSOURCE or TURN OFF YOUR SLN IN CONFIG.INI.

I honestly have to disagree. If you do not like how the person is running his or hers server than you could just blacklist it and I am pretty sure that the owner of theserverispretty capable of moderating for himself and if his not than its his fault. With that "prove our identities." thing is kind of weird, because why would you want to prove your identities? Do you expect everyone to just dropeverythingtheredoing just because you logged on. The short answer is no. Being noticed as the creators of eosource is nothing special and I am pretty sure the owner does not want an uninvited admin banning people for there own reasons. It just makes the owner frustrated becausethey don'tknowwhat the person did and must likely that person will complain and the owner will not know if he is telling the truth. Well of course the owner could ask you, but that could be a long process.  I also can see your reasons to this though, but I do not agree 100% with it well I hardly agree with it at all, but that is not the point. The point is that it is up to you and it is up to the people who want to use it. If you do not like how you guys made it than don't use it. That is a pretty simple concept and I respect it since it is your guys software and you choice what you want to do with it, but I do see more people using your software if it didn't contain this backdoor.

I am simply trying to provide the peace and tranquility that eoserv could not provide, if you don't agree with it i don't care.

What do i mean by peace and tranquility?

The unfair targeting of servers getting DDOS'ed by every little script kiddie on these forums.

Packet Spammers

People crashing servers..

Abusers

People on servers ruining servers..

If you don't want me on your server banning people thats fine but i will still monitor it myself to make sure it complys with the safety of other servers.

The point in monitoring other servers is maintaining a secure safe server list something sausage failed to do thus why i got infected.

And would be impossible to maintain a safe list if you didn't inspect each server `properly`.

and p.s we already do rule SLN.

I'm stupid enough to put a Backdoor into Sausages eoserv source code - release it as a binary with a few shitty throw ins- claim that i'm trying to help the eoserv community when in reality i'm trying to control eoserv and THEN throw a hissey fit when people realize my true intentions and call them idiots.
