Wtf. SEOSE was the shit. It was convenient, easy to set up, and noob friendly. Although, it would've been better if it was open source.

yes i said (No offence) i use to use it, tell i learned to code it was only good for noobs in learning... but sooner or later it would need to die, i did think the + command was easier Tbh then $ but i still like Seose... but most noobs that ran them had crap Seose's but Eoserv's 10x better Imo.

Maybe but i appreciate the effort put into those hacked together features instead of just putting up a eosource server. Although I have nothing against eosource servers really. Its just people don't realy put effort into most of the eosource servers i see.

Dude, all owner put effort into their own server.. no matter if it is Eosource, or Eoserv.

Well I don't want to jump to conclusions and say your wrong there. Perhaps you have a point. But most of the people who put "effort" into these servers only do it so they can have power over the players. Some people (whether they use eosource or eoserv.) actually do make servers to see people enjoy their creations, but very few as far as I see.

It wouldn't have been any better open source. I released two much better servers that where open source: Kalandra which was open source and had basic scripting but very few people here where smart enough to do anything with it and MEOW.

MEOW was my favourite. It was perfect for mini game servers (like the old eoserv.net arena server). It was open source, as people kept asking for, it was simple to understand, as people kept asking for, it used sqlite database it so was "web page" compatible, as people kept asking for, I was actually willing to support it, as people kept asking for, etc.. I provided everything! A spring board for people to develop some interesting games! Nothing.

Fact is, people didn't _REALLY_ want open source for themselves. They wanted open source so they could wait for other people to add to it and then rip that. I'd guess 95% of people that have actually tried to run a server haven't even got any kind of compiler installed on their computer.

I'd still be willing to work on a new server if I ever actually met anyone in this community that could prove they had something to add. Sound snobby and elitist but that's just the way it is. ...and no, adding a few shitty mods to a server already written by Sausage doesn't make you a programmer,it makes you a hack at best.

Agreed, I used Seose because i didn't have a clue how to compile even after watching a YT video on it (LoL), I've also tried EOSource but none of it feels right because all you do is edit config files. You can have a server up and running within 30mins, I wish i had time to learn C++ etc i thought it would be like making a autoing script but it isn't lol.

If i had the knowledge i'd of loved to make a client and server so that you can add features EO Client wont let you do. But i'll just have to wait till someone else goes to this extreme :(
