Post #142972 Ember Of Caerus

Embers of Caerus is a next-generation sandbox medieval fantasy MMORPG under development by Forsaken Studios. With a rich, player-controlled story, a massive, realistic game-world, and a host of innovative features, Embers of Caerus promises to be the game that sandbox fans have been waiting for!Now, with the fantastic support of leading software company Havok and access to their amazing technologies, we are ready to take our project to the next level.

Overview

Become part of a storyline that spans more than a thousand years and change the course of a brutal and dynamic world. Create everything from weapons, armor, ships, shops, and homes, to entire cities and nations. Control everything from local and national laws, taxes, markets, territories and political landscapes. Influence the unfolding and development of the game's story lines and make the world your own. Advance your character in a unique, rich, classless, and level-less skill-based system.

Struggle to survive in a harsh and violent world recently torn asunder by a magical apocalypse. Face challenges that bring new meaning to player versus environment. Encounter natural, magical, and demonic creatures, forces of nature and gods, and other players seeking to advance their own agendas -or simply end yours. Unlock mysteries of the ancient world that can lead to anything, from new skills and spells, to rare resources and valuable items. Discover haunted ruins, fantastic creatures, and deadly traps that can leave you questioning your sanity and your friends' loyalty.

Help restore the temples of the old world's gods, or create your own religion and will a new deity into existence. Spread your patron god's good nature across the world, drawing in support from others - or unleash hellish powers in their name, make others cower before your god's might, and reap fell rewards for your service.

What story will you write into the history of Caerus?

I would get into more details, but that would be far too much explaining, so visit the website to get a more in-depth idea about the game. Join our community and help add your thoughts.

Wow.. oddly I totally forgot about that.. I was used to placing job offerings in advertisement that I took lounge to be a spot I can talk about games. My fault.

It's fine. Btw, are you a part of the development of this game? Looks like the game Amnesia or Skyrim.

I am apart of their community management team, nothing having to do with the game itself, just the community.

I was always a fan of free roam sandbox type of games, looks pretty good watched a few videos and had a look at there concept art. Although it will take a couple of years to release something this complex plus the feature list looks pretty big and time consuming.

No. No one that was ever in my team has anything to do with this development.

Did you guys buy the rights to this game or you've been doing this on your own?

None of the above. This isn't our game. I am just apart of their community team and decided to introduce the game to other forums.

Post #143788 Re: Ember Of Caerus

While a bit late on posting this, I thought I would invite this community and any talented signature creators here to take part in a community hosted event. The prize is $150 towards the winner of the best signature that portrays what is written below. The thread can be found Here

" Having only recently discovered this planned game, I'm really taken by it and want to see it do well.

One way of helping this is to make sure that as many people get to hear about it as possible - an easy way being through forum signatures.

I am therefore funding a competition for all members of these boards to design a sig that:

a) embodies the spirit of the game;
b) will be an excellent advert for the game;
c) will serve as an easy link back to the www.embersofcaerus.com site; and
d) is 500pixels by 100 pixels (max 100.00KB).

All entries should be posted in this thread* AND the sig file should be sent to me by PM on these forums by 1200 GMT on 17 June 2012.

The winner will be chosen by the three founding directors of Forsaken Studios: Rob, Dave and Lee, and will be announced during Tuesday 19 June, the date when the Kickstarter funding push ends.

I will be forwarding the prize money to the winner's paypal account on that day, so the winner will need to have a Paypal account to receive the monies.

So, let your artistic talents shine - and good luck!

*By posting an entry you agree to release all copyright in it that you might have, so that others here can use any entry posted. You are also confirming that the sig is all your own work and that no other person holds any copyright in the sig. Multiple sig entries are allowed, but please note thateach sig you post becomes released for general use, whilst only one sig can be the actual winner. "

Also check out one of the latest released music video for Embers of Caerus Here , featuring Malukah.

hehe

"with the fantastic support of leading software company Havok and access to their amazing technologies"

Anyone that throws a little bit of loose change at Havok get their "amazing technologies". They are basically a company that just sell libraries so just because they power games like skyrim doesn't mean anyone else using their software is special. Look at all the crappy games that use the Source Engine.. Just because games like Counter Strike and Half Life 2 use it doesn't mean all the other crap is good.

Sorry if that sounds aggressive. Maybe your game will be amazing and uber successful, I hope for you it will be. It's just us geeks that follow game development are pretty sick of all this marketing spin and would sooner see the effort put into originality rather than marketing.
