Alienware is very expensive, I bought this PC in a auction and won it for £250 which i think is quite good.

(£250 = $401.78)

No. Alienware is shit, the original alienware's where good, than dell bought the company. If you want to get a beast gaming computer, than build your own. I built myen for 3k, but it is alot cheaper if you get the right parts, what is your budget?

You can build a good gaming computer for like 600$, but you would have to go low ball on the case, but you can buy a better case and get less money for parts. Basically the question is, performance or how it looks, if you have around 1k to spend than you can get both.

Since you only paid 400$ for it, it's a good deal. The processor, ram, and GPU alone are worth 400 new. In the future if you want a fast machine, build it.

PSU(shorts), Motherboard(heat/shorts), Processor(heat), GPU(heat/shorts), RAM(shorts/heat later being doubtful) can all cause your pc to shut off.

SSD != better gaming PC, 95%+ of games only use the first two cores still, and 600 series GPU is still overkill. I can run Battlefield 3 on Ultra with my SLI 470s.

The problem i have atm is not knowing what parts will work together or what parts are good at a reasonable price (Alot of companys love to over price), Replacing a parts is simple just fitting the new part the way the old part come off.
