Time being with EOSERV.NET

Post #140716 Time being with EOSERV.NET

When checking my profile, I noticed I'm with EOSERV for 3 years and 1 day now. If you think about it.. 3 years, I'm 20 now, I was 17 when I joined this place..

Going back in time, I pretty much learned how to "code" by just looking at the codes Sausage had written. Through this I gained interest for coding and switched my course to become an application developer. Over the years I've helped many people, and programmed for a decent amount of servers. Over-all I have a good time here, and met alot of great people.

Thought I'd share this with you guys, and tell me about the time you've had within EOSERV, what attracts you to it, what do you like about it? etc.

I've been with EOserv for 1 year and 10 weeks..

I first joined EOserv when Elevations started ranting about it saying it's a dangerous place full of hackers that will steal my email. rebel>pussy

Long story short, I was a DJ on FE-> I joined EE-> Elefag perma-banned my account (the idiot forgot to ban my account on the DJ Panel)-> I befriended Apollo-> Gave him my username and password-> Sausage used it against Elevations-> I joined #eohax-> Became active on EOserv->Turned into a geek-> Started helping you guys-> [...] NOW I LOVE YOU! B'AWWW! <3

Post #140720 Re: Time being with EOSERV.NET

3 years and a week for me. Whoa, where has my life gone? I first came here when "Project Atlas" was first starting. Y'know, that one "server" that was being made by Knight, Reuben, Andrei and all those people? Then they pulled a vult-r... whatever. I just ended up sticking around here, even though I don't post much. I just find this community interesting, I guess.

Before all that, I was into EOR n' stuff. That was cool. I went to eohax a couple of times back then, but never made an account or anything. All in all, I haven't really done anything constructive with my life in all this time. I've aged a couple of years, that's about it.

Post #140724 Re: Time being with EOSERV.NET

I've been with eoserv since right around the release of eoserv 3.0 (I also have a copy of 2.0) But I have played eo since around v.27 (which is a long time ago) even if you may think not. My old account got wiped so I use this account (which is only like 2  years old?). In this time I have met interesting people, Expanded my knowledge in a few skills, and practiced my social skills with fat dudes that play as women on eoservers. xD

Post #140754 Re: Time being with EOSERV.NET

My time around here goes back a bit. well before i made my account here.
see i am what you call a bad boy.can not follow the rules, liked to smoke bud, party all the good stuff.
To make a long story short. after 10 or so years of getting into trouble/jail spending my life's savings on hard drugs.
i wanted to change. i found endless online and a friend that was not about drugs. got rid of every bad/negative person i knew...
worked and sat here at this computer and kept myself away from the drugs and trouble.
had a few bumps in the road, but things have been slowly putting itself back together.
you can say spending the last 3 years playing a game that came out probably in my 20's have been a major waste.
but to me it truly saved my life getting addicted to this 2d game and eoserv.

now days i give myself a hour or so to pixel, but find less and less time for the computer.

Post #140755 Re: Time being with EOSERV.NET

Well in my 2 or so years with eoserv, i have slowly increased my ability to program. I have specialized in .NET framework applications and I have really pushed the limit on what my programs can do and what .NET has been able to do for people that dont move on from .NET languages to higher up languages. I am currently in a stage where i am programming in C# with XNA framework. When i just started to play, I hadnt really been doing anything but scripting and running my server. Eoserv really fed my creativity, I started in the basics of VB and i submitted my work onto here. If anyone remembers, i would release a program every week or so. Usually it was a help to the community like my SLN Launcher, Easy Portforwarder, GLauncher, Spambot, and etc. I have stopped making little applications like this because they have become very easy to make. But i had also started Web Development just as a side thing, and I picked up on it very quickly. As well as little PHP applets. The point is that eoserv gave me an audience, and with every release to the community and the positive feedback, it kept me here. I still am here for the positive (and the negative that comes with it) that helps me become a better programmer and improve upon old styles of my programming.

Post #140756 Re: Time being with EOSERV.NET

3 years 3 weeks. Hm.. Over this time I have gained a lot of knowledge in C++ and PHP believe it or not. The code that sausage released to the community really inspired me to want to learn to code to play with the code which he has already written. I still remember the days of when Arena was the latest craze amongst private servers :P gaining experience for arena kills :') I've watched this community develop and I've watched EOSERV Progress as a product and I guess that's what's kept me around for so long. I've been on these forums longer than I have actually been playing the damn game haha.. But yeah, when I first joined this community I was 14, didn't know a thing about coding, and now I'm in college studying computer science :L It's crazy! But it's been a pleasure getting to know a lot of people amongst this community. So from me to you guys, thanks :)

Post #140757 Re: Time being with EOSERV.NET

Can't say I been checking this website long maybe a month, but I do remember sausage always rambling about stuff like this and always being busy with coding. All of sausage's work was great for us to work with specially eo proxy, and all those scrips you lent me like that awesome auto clickeryou made in like 10 minutes. Looking back at it I haven't been here all that long, but the development of this place and emulator has been in the works since I met Sausage probably even further back. Thanks for all the work and time you have dedicated to EO and it's emulator, same goes to all you coders working on private servers keeping endless, well endless. Hope to see what others stuff you've got in store ''Julian'' :)

Post #140763 Re: Time being with EOSERV.NET

I have been here almost 3 years (6 weeks to go).

I was a, well, a noob back then. I didn't know much about private servers or anything like that.

I had a server back then, called FFEO/EO-Alchemist/Final Fantasy EO. That was pretty short "project" which ultimately failed, because of my attitude.

Anyhow, I have had excellent times here and made few good friends too.

Edit: I started search private servers on 2009, january or february and found out this site on march maybe. I believe it was march when I found AnanasEO, the best private server back then and I bet it still would be, if it existed.

Post #140767 Re: Time being with EOSERV.NET

Played Endless Online for a load of time probably about 2-3 years, I was a major arena whore only ever got to level 14.

Been here for a year or even more on several other accounts, got fed up with Endless Online so I started playing servers like, Eo-revived got hooked to it and stayed there for awhile then started working for servers. I probably worked for everyone here and you wouldn't even know it. All those projectsdied till I started helping Nade a former poster here, on her server which I got inspired and picked up some skills to make a server. Then I finally decided to make my own in which I did opened up Vesperia online test version last year got 10-12 players. I pretty happy with the outcome as all the players were really helpful and loyal and liked the gameplay. Then I finally decided to use the same developing style I used for Vesperia for Edenshire.

Made alot of friends and enemies here, this place has a special community which makes you never leave.
