Forum :: EOSERV :: Scrambled Character Name

Ok, so i am messing around on the newest version of eoserv, and i log in and my characters name is scrambled. It shows the correct name in the character selection screen but not in the player list.

It shows Iwldsurvival

Anyone else have this problem?

Edit: Nvm, it fixed itself after client restart.

I have only seen this bug in custom clients. It is due to improper packet decoding. I suppose it would be possible, but very unlikely, for this to happen on the official EO client due to a malformed packet being received by the client. Nothing to worry about though. The server stores the character names properly and never overwrites a given player name at save. Think of it like your client being a TV and the server being the station broadcasting the program. Because the TV reception becomes scrambled it doesn't mean the station is actually broadcasting a scrambled signal. :P
