I have ran the Windows 7 Advisor program to test if I was able to upgrade to windows 7 from windows xp. The only problem I had was the RAM. I can add RAM now which I was going to do. After all this.. Would it be good to update, using a pirated version from http://thepiratebay.se/ ?

I'd personally just wait for Windows 8 to come out. While windows 7 is a big step up from windows xp i don't feel you should worry about it anymore since windows 8 is supposed to be out later this year.

Yeah I heard Windows 8 was coming out in the end of summer of 2012?

Most sites I have seen say October however it all depends on bugs, add ins, etc.

Do it if you want. Windows 7 has so much more to offer than Windows XP. I did a little test with my friends and apparently, 7 is faster than XP. But 7 has parental controlls, so if you have over-pretective parents...

I recently got windows 7 with my new laptop a couple weeks ago i love it way better then XP, and i used that for over 5 years.. xD also i heard windows 8 was weird

I would get windows 7. I have tried the demo of windows 8 on both my tablet and pc. It runs great on pc and makes the tablet feel more useful. That's not the case on pc though. Idk why everyone is so hyped up on windows 8. I am going to stick with windows 7 for now and you should too.
