| ![]() Great Read: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/is-there-more-to-the-invisible-children-story-in-uganda-than-meets-the-eye/ I like the part at the bottom, "The accounts suggest nearly 25% of its $8.8m income last year was spent on travel and film-making with only around 30% going toward programes on the ground. The great majority of the money raised has been spent in the US. $1.7 million went on US employee
salaries,$357,000 in film costs, $850,000 in film production costs, $244,000 in "professional services" - thought to be Washington lobbyists - and $1.07 million in travel expenses . Nearly $400,000 was spent on office rent in San Diego." - source Edit: I'm not saying if any of this stuff is right or not, I'm just saying you got to look at all the facts. Then form your own opinion. Do not just go off what you first see, research and learn more about what is going on from both sides of the arguments.

| ![]() Gee, wonder if people will now realize that the -10 they gave me was for a dumb ass reason. Kind of reminds me of two months ago when people were all pissed about SOPA and PIPA when it was suggested almost two years ago. People only care if you post it in front of them, and even then they don't care, they just want to fit in with the crowd. --- Former multi-server mapper.

| ![]() Mouse posted: (8th Mar 2012, 11:04 pm) You know don't take this wrong actually do take it wrong.. Your all so stupid, filling my facebook and other shit up with "kony this kony that" you all realize this shit has
beenhappening foryears, you all just realize it now because of a viral video.. So you posting about it now an acting as if you care just show's how ignorant you really are to the world around you.. Shit like this goes on in other countries all the time.. I guess
youdon't take a lookout side what MSNBC and FOX NEWS tells you until it hits youtube?
So I give it a week before you all stop caring again because the next big thing that will make you look like your a caring person will happen.. and all your post will be about that.. lmfao. To those who say its not ignorance well it is ignorance when they have been turning a blind eye to it until a viral video is made... We learn about shit like this in highschool, in college... its nothing new.. the only difference is you people are now acting as if you care because the masspublichas accepted that its actually happening an not just stories that are told on the history chan or on documentaries.. And if you say I don't care well, I care, I just don't flaunt it like I'm some good person, these people who are posting about it constantly don't actually care.. they are just posting it to get the The "Like" Button and to make them selves seem like they are humanitarians.. Silly facebookusers, you can't do anything just by posting a status go out an change it don't just post it. But it doesn't change the fact that it's extremely offensive to joke about it. And about that picture, if I'm agreeing with you, I don't see why you should post that at all. --- Tire me.
|
| ![]() I agree with Kody. I have another example to add. I've heard people talking about the horn of africa's famine a lot on the news. I was astonished that they've noticed this just now even though this crisis has been going on for years, and years, and years. Infact I helped before anyone even knew about the famine in Africa. I bought a plane ticket, well several plane tickets to go to somalia, ethopia etc.. and I donated around $60,000 USD and my father donated around $14,000 USD. See, that's helping someone in need rather then joining the flow and doing whatever everyone else is doing. Yeah, I know I'm rich. I got a lot of money. (ty doctor daddy) ;3 Plus I plan on becoming a lawyer so I'll be getting a lot of money!! :D

I bet that at least 70% of the people supporting "Kony 2012" won't be able to even localize Uganda if I give them an African map. My point of view is, unless you're going down to Africa yourself to "stop" Joseph Kony, you aren't really doing much. I know there's a 30$ kit and stuff, but come on, it's not like it's gonna help that much with his "capture". He's like the African Osama bin Laden. What will "making him visible" do? Normal people (a.k.a everyone involved in the Kony 2012 movement) can't do much. Unless you're willing to use AK-47s and RPGs and all that weapon shit, you can't do shit. The guy has more than a thousand black African dudes (not being racist but they're probably buffer than all of you) with machine guns and tanks and other junk. The US government already knows about it. I'm sure the Ugandan government also knows about it. Leave it to the government. Leave it to the group. You can't do much except donate 30$ to buy some kit with T-shirts and stuff. What's the point of this movement? To get people I (and most of you) really can't do anything seeing as I can't donate or whatever, nor go down to Africa and go Rambo on his ass, so I just sit at home and do my shit. |
