| ![]() Government has been doing this long before that article was posted. Homeland Security also covers certain parts of internet usage such as emails and forums if the government deems it necessary. Not to mention that companies pay businesses such as facebook and twitter to get information about people they will potentially hire. That's why you never see me using my real name or information on forums/emails or social media sites. --- Former multi-server mapper.

| ![]() Privacy isn't really that big of a thing to me. (as I do nothing horrible on the net anymore) due to playing skyrim 24/7 although I can see how privacy can affect everything, (also I won't be mad at them until I get a message on my skyrim main menu saying that this game was deemed inappropriate
by the government) then I shall be mad. =3 Also I'm not saying I support the government on invasion of privacy, I'm just too taken with skyrim to care. =p

Any keywords that you type into the internet will get picked up by the US government and your search will get logged/saved on their database for processing. They log almost everything thatpeople type on facebook, myspace and tweeter. (Thats why the government was in/is in the process of building a new bigger place for their database center. They couldn't pull any more power from the power grid where they were at.) Not only do they use computers but any public cameras they can tap into are being monitored as well. This is not conspiracy, this all comes from the government and their plans to battle "terrorism". If you have a bumper sticker that they do not like, your car will get flagged and you will be put onthe watch list. While they do not do this to spy on us, they kind of blurred the lines were our privacy begins. -ending here before I really start to go on a rant- Though makes me wonder why with all this tech, we still have 6-10 million illegal immigrants working for $2-$5 an hour in the USA. (Numbers from the government) If you do not think that is bad, then look at Los Vegas. Americans used to work in hotels for around $12 an hour, but since the spike inthe illegals the hotels have fired many of hotel cleaning staff for cheaper workers. Why pay an American when you can pay an illegal off the books (no taxes) for $3.50 an hour. (Again numbers come from government.) Edit: Just like to note that Government does not do all of this. They hire off some of the work to privet contractors that are not monitored by the government.

| ![]() Feel like updating my thoughts. And yes, you are right, I did not say much about the topic. I did not say much because I feel that it would lead into a big conspiracy and this topic would either get deleted or locked. Few keywords I feel I should have posted in my original post: SOPA PIPA Granted there are ways to get around the government watching what you do on computers, the general idea is that they try to deny as much of it as possible so that people won't get pissed off. For some reason, this topic makes me think of The Matrix/1984. --- Former multi-server mapper.

No joke, hard for people to see what you mean unless you at least post where you get all this information. Not arguing against it, but sources would make it more efficient and less people assuming bull. Anyways I agree that certain things must be moderated due to safety of people, just not to the point where it becomes absurd.

Well I would personally not like to be monitored all the time, though when I think about it, these sort of things protect us from terrorists. And if you aren't doing anything wrong, then why would you care. My thoughts about the situation.
