So i finally got photoshop and ive been messing around with it for 2 days. I got bored last night so i decided to make a site with it. Here is the link to the site, please post comments and criticism on your thoughts about it.

Programmer, Web Developer, and Graphics Designer

Pros: Very well made, nothing is really rushed. You give a brief explanation of what the website's intended purpose is as well as navigation links. Color scheme and gradients are better than most.

Cons: The word "Home" blends in a little bit, something that can easily be fixed. Possible "Hover overs" so when you move your mouse over an icon it explains what its purpose is. Possible graphics in the background. None of these are needed, just my opinions on what could be better.

Yeah, there are tooltips when you hover over the icons though. I might have to make some better ones using javascript though because they look lame. I do intend on putting something in the background but i dont know  what yet. Thanks :)

Yeah its the font. I didnt realize it when i found the font but when i got it all finished i was like "this text looks familiar" and looked at his site and was like >.<

But i dont use images for mine. Hiriu's uses images for all his news posts. I use a js library called cufon that renders the text on a canvas with the font. Therefore making it look good, and dynamic.

The image font just doesn't really make this look like a natural website. You have to make a nice balance between Text (html), and Images.

Yeah, i know. I might just use the regular ttf for it. Dont feel like changing right now lol.

edit: Eww, im going to have to use another font, its way too edgey as a webfont.

The sites look completely different except the font, And im sure Hiuru didn't make the font.

Uhm. No. Ohwow he used the same font. Holy fuck anyone who uses  lucida grande is clearly stealing facebook o: xD.. On a serious note, I think you need to revise your red banners man. The only thing that's defining the text is the drop shadows and it's kinda hard to see IMO. If I were you I'd make the text the colour of the inset shadow and then make the inset shadow a little darker than it is already to give it some more definition. Aside from that I like the design. Good work!
