iPhone/Android EOSERV Application
I was wondering if anyone took the time to ever think about creating an EOSERV Application for the iPhone and Android Devices.
If not, is it possible?

Its difficult getting it on my phone too... mainly because I don't have 3g/wifi. :\
But seriously, if an app were made like this I'd pay up to 1$ for it. :3 (Getting an iPhone soon) :D

It would be a nice app to have. However when you are on the EOSERV homepage, on your iPhone, just press te picture of the book and click add to home screen.

Re: iPhone/Android EOSERV Application
To develop an EOSERV application and distribute it to the iPhone would be costly for most members. $99 to join the iPhone Developer Program. Xcode is then free to download, but it only runs on Mac OS X, so you need a Mac to run it. Then you need to know the programming language, which is
Objective-C, along with the basics of using the Xcode IDE.
Then it needs to be cleared to run on the iPhone/iPod App Store.
In a nutshell, you'd almost be better off making a mobile version of the site template and having it trigger automatically whenever a handheld device's user agent is detected. You won't get all the bells and whistles of a full blown iPhone application, but it would be more economically viable
(with the added bonus of also working on just about every modern mobile device).

I've had some issues with Jailbroken devices before. My current iPhone 4S runs an entirely vanilla install and i'll probably keep it that way.
Still, it's a lot of effort just to download and install a simple EOSERV application. However it would have the added advantage of allowing us to host it on our own repository.

Re: iPhone/Android EOSERV Application
I already posted the idea of me trying to make it for Nokia phones, since I saw a program that could be used to it. It´s quite easy, but eoserv needs to have a RSS system. I figured that out for Nokia phones, Iphones you need to send an email to apple telling you wanna make a app for app store,
they will send you a bill for you to pay and the special program to do it, Then you choose your plan like, 1 year 150$ to announce your app, I don´t know how it works. But it´s pretty that.

Actually, you sign up at the Apple Developer Connection, become an iPhone Developer (with an annual fee, $99 I believe) and you can then submit apps to the App Store. The developer tools and all associated software are free to use regardless of whether
you're a registered developer or not.
I still think building phone compatibility directly into the core of the EOSERV Forum would be the simplest method by far. Better compatibility between mobile devices too.

Hosting your own repo, isn't the problem..
