Whenever the government says they're going to "protect us", watch out. 'cause they're just gonna take away another one of our freedoms.

Btw, the bill will cost $27 million to pass, for the next 4 years. Taxes are gonna be raised a looooooot. Just to pass SOPA and PIPA.

$27 million a year isn't anything. That wouldn't raise taxes an appreciable amount. If you think about it, that's less than $0.10 per person.

Yet that .10 cent's per person could be going to much better things such as education or other things to better our society not push us closer to more like the People's Republic of China...

I thought they where to but they where just put on hold until after the holidays..(of 2011). And being accepted into house and passing are different things.. a bill can be accepted but doesn't make it a law until its passed.

And actually I don't believe its passed yet, but if it has could you link me to the article about it passing? Because I heard it wasn't going to be passed/declined until March.

Edit:
Wiki says - "[d]ue to the Republican and Democratic retreats taking place over the next two weeks, markup of the Stop Online Piracy Act is expected to resume in February."

it's put on hold indefinately that means that obama doesn't want to fuck up his elections, eventually no matter who the president will be, SOPA will come back and be accepted
